cold ice could you post what compressor will you be using ?
hatemi - i added you to the list.
berkut for the regulator gauges for the co2 bottle, did you have to get the fitting changed at all for it to fit the refrigerant gauges onto it.
also did you just get the normal gauges at the say welding store or something.
what size gas bottle did you have berkut
i just connected a piece of pcv pipe and than a service valve to it
:banana4: berkut you are crazy didnt it leak by doing that
no, the pressures are low ranging from ~0.1 bar to 6 bar dependingon how i set them
I'm not sure which compressor I can obtain, but I think it will be a Aspera J2212K.Quote:

Please add me to list
Tecumseh CAE2410A 1/3 HP 12 cm^3
R290 or R22 and CO2
wow! no1 in the UK? if i had the money to buy in the copper / flex hose / suitable compressor, etc id need i would compete, have CO2 and propane in the shed. ah well, mabey i will build one anyway and just not compete in the competition (wouldnt be ready in time anyway i doubt because of funds) autocascade chiller sounds quite tempting though. :)
owen
Berkut put me on the list please.

Kayl what size is your tank? I went to BOC gas (Canada) and the smallest they had was a 20lb Q size.
D size, i have to rent to bottle for 4 years before i would have been better off buying the bottle.
How much was it to buy the bottle? How many lbs is in d size?
Here I got quoted $32 to rent the bottle (20lb) per month and 28$ to fill it (cdn $)
not sure will check next time im working with c02 bottle if i remember.
when i was signing papers to rent the bottle, it stated replacement cost of bottle was aronud $430AUS
ya will also have to pay them a handling fee as well for the gas.
then tax on top of that. (thats what happened to me anyway)
i think your currency and my currency about the same.
really its going to be the cheapest gas you can buy by far (well except r290)
that’s the hole point of the competition so anyone can compete.
I'm assuming you had to buy your own regulator in addition to renting the bottle (~$80 for cheap ones here). Did they deliver it to you or what?
yeah i had to get my own regulator, they don’t rent them. same here $80 for co2 regulator with 10% GST (tax) came to $88.
it was $33 to have it delivered to my house, $33 was a flat fee, could have ordered serval bottles and they would have delivered them to me. i really wanted nitrogen as well, but low on cash unfortunately.
if you pick it up from them you pay a service handling fee, its alot cheaper than having it delivered, i think the actual gas was $24 and the handling fee plus tax came to a total of $33. walk and walk out with ya toys, all stores generally have at least one bottle in stock i was told on the phone, and gas dealers are all over town.
Just need to get an account first and then you just ring the service line quote ya account number and they answer what eva quest you like.
Did you find have any issues getting an account when (or if?) you told them what it was for?
i didnt tell them what it was for, first i said i wanted beer gas. for keg set when applying for account.
then when i got the account i said it was for home use. ie welding like its meant to be used for.
as long as you don’t damage there equipment i don’t think it matters.
wow you payed a lot!
my bottle costed 75$, regukator 50$ and 5$ for CO2, its a 6.9 litre bottle if i remember correctly
thats was for a brand new bottle at BOC prices
i didnt look for second hand ones dont really know anyone in that area.
and in a rush i guess
Berkut was that the cost to buy the bottle?? Thats really cheap. I'll have to look into some second hand ones if BOC or airliquide has any.
I'd like to get in on this. I know i have limited posts and ask a lot of questions but i'm suprisingly well adept at this... i promise to follow all safety guidlines and use all available saftey measures to not kill myself or those around me.
i intend to do an autocascade second stage ethylene yet to be determined first stage coolant with a yet to be decided on compressor but likely it will be a tecumseh 3/4 hp
Koneko
Edit: For the open competition part
