It really has no pressure at all on the chipset.

It did all sorts of stuff that it isn't doing now. I can push it further, it doesnt crash as often, and I haven't gotten that blue screen yet, except when I tried some Crucial Ballistix at way too tight timings.
Even if the heatsink doesnt drastically improve performance, I'm happier knowing that it's nice and cool now.
I bought mine from ViperJohn at DFI-Street, here's a link

Ahhh... that is nice... Next time I take my mobo out, I think I will take Arctic cooling silencer on my 6800GT out (which isn't helping a thing) and put back my hand cut Zalman NB heatsink with 50mm fan attached (it actually can fit with stock 6800GT heatsink in this combo :) and see if it helps any... maybe I will get some time... (must... check... seal string left...that winchester venture costed me nearly 1.5 roll of seal string).
Quick update on my issue...
The OCZ RMA memory that is supposed to arrive on last friday isn't most likely showing up till tomorrow. 2 business days later than promised, 4 days later than promised. Needless to say I am frustrated and won't be able to find out what this memory can do till tomorrow (if that). I need to vent the fume somewhere. Ciao.
Hi all,
Is there an optimal voltage setting for this RAM?
I've installed 2 sticks of the EL Rev2 into my IC7-Max3 but I can get the stuff past 260Mhz :(
So far I'm at 2.5-7-3-3 with 2.65v and "Perf mode" set to enabled.
If anyone could offer some advise it would be appreciated.
Cheers

Note this is on a single memory controller 754 board running 1x512mb.
Please read the first post in this thread. You either have the version that loves voltage or the one that doesn't. There's only one way to find out what is "optimal" for your particular system as no two systems are alike.Quote:

Finally got RMA of my Rev2. So much trouble and hassle both I and OCZ had to go through -_-;
However, I ended up getting pretty decent stick. I don' think this one likes voltage but I am fine with that :P
2-2-2-5 stops @ 219mhz (Gskill of mine stops @ 215mhz) Both Gskill and Rev2 stops @ 281mhz for 2.5-3-3-7 (looks to me I am limited by me cpu... blah... shucks on mem controller for such a nice overclocker on core).
Will probably sell Gskill since Rev2 probably has a little more potential based on 2-2-2-5 result. (oh, and funny thing... both likes 2.6v the best... strange stuff... wonder why OCZ rate it @ 2.75v?)
