Makes me wonder why they seperate the two screenshots?
No really, though, a dothan at 2.8 is an FX-55 at 3.6. I guess Intel's got its killer core on the loose !!! :D

I've not yet gotten DFI's board...
But now, AOpen's board is capable to set multiplier on the BIOS
effectively, by beta BIOS R1.01a !
x6 to default multiplier are available.

An capacitor(?) is located on back of CPU socket,
so you will have to cut the rubber pad of SP94's back-plate, I think.
And 2mm thickness metal plate must be set between core and heatsink.

No, check this picture, please:

Wait a week or so, please :)
I seriously doubt that, but it is fast :)Quote:

So wich board is better???
The DFI or the ASUS???
Has the ASUS got a AGP/PCI lock???
Cuz if DFI doesnt its really bad...
I find this amazing ;)
Clock2clock P-M is as fast/faster than FX-55??? Tom holck just did 22sec superpi@3.7Ghz(FX-55)
P-M@2.8Ghz does 25 sec??? Thats sick...
Anybody has tested how high a P-M goes on water???
I did. There is no diff between aircooling and watercooling for P-M. Maybe becoz the CPU is barely warm in the first place. The heatsink felt really cool even though both BIOS and AOpen monitoring software reported idle temp of 39C(water) and 43C(air). Room temp is 26C.Quote:

wow!
which bios are you using there?Quote:

Ciao
I am using BIOS r1.01a now. I did set 66/33 (or, the other two options as well) but SetFSB does not seem to detect the lock. But, I think it's working otherwise my system has been hosed already.Quote:

Thanks for the warning. I'll keep that in mind. I thought the burning incident was particular to TCCD running at 3.3v as posted here:Quote:

h2o which HSF did you put on your 755?
Ciao
Air cooling is the stock AOpen's HSF here:Quote:

Water cooling is here:

ok but with the dfi board your water block isnt compatible? :( --> NB water blockQuote:

I do have exactly the same NB HSF from MicroCool so I'll give that a try first. Although water and air are really giving about the same clock from my CPU. Let's see if this is the case with DFI tomorrow.Quote:

Mr. abo could lock at 66/33, but he decided that the system runs
at synchronous mode in case of 66/33 BIOS setting.
This behaviour is same as AOpen's original clock-mod utility.

OCZ DDR BOOSTER is fully functional at AOpen's i855GMEm-LFS!!!
Booster on DFI's i855 mb(sample/pre-production version) causes
Booster burning.
So,

Don'y worry about AOpen i855 mb + OCZ Booster.
There is no problem in this combination.
My OCZ PC3200 EL Platinum Rev2 are still alive ;)
...Be careful, cpulloverclock
Does it mean that I have to set it to 75/40 or 88/44 to have AGP/PCI lock?Quote:

Yes.
SetFSB has also AGP/PCI clock selecting function,
So you can change to 66/33 after OS booting,
though it sometimes causes system freeze;)
# Usually SetFSB's AGP/PCI clock changing function is reliable, I feel.
# So I suspect that this system freeze by selecting AGP/PCI clock is
# derived from peculiarity of i855 chipset or/and AOpen's i855 mb.
I am using SetFSB version1.5a and there are some questions that you may be able to answer as follows:
1. What is the ULTRA option for?
2. The UP/DOWN button next to AGP/PCI can't be clicked. Is this by design?
3. The number 76/370 next to AGP/PCI and UP/DOWN button. What does it mean? You can click LEFT/RIGHT button and the effect is the same as moving the main cursor that control FSB/RAM/AGP/PCI
Sorry for asking too much and thanks in advance for your kind help.
So... we all gonna have dotan at 4ghz soon!!!
32s!!! wow is that beter than everyting now on the market at 2,5ghz or overck at 2,5g???
ok ok, mea culpa :toast:Quote:
