does superpi, but not prime95 for hours. my cooling isn't good enough.
well §§§§ it's already back in stock for $58!!!
so the last batch was mobile tbreds? What about this one? Any guess? I hope it's not the pictured one
@Goldlocke: are you really pumin' 2.38v through that Tbred or is it a flaw in mbm? :o
THERE IN STOCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK KKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@! @!@!@!@!@1
60 bones!!!!!!!!!!!!!! www.newegg.com
N8 and umgawa: are you for sure the first batch was MOBILE?
someone else with the chip swears it's a desktop tbred. I'd just like to know the difference seeing as how newegg sells em for cheap desktop price.
@ richbastard: yes, for this try I ran 2.37V to my little TBreddie. In allday use I run 2.10V.
Err they weren't mobiles... the mobile processors are micro socket a. They are quite a bit smaller.Quote:

Mobile's are socket-a from what i've read...but I don't think this chip is a mobile. Its just a 1700+ Tbred A from what I can tell :)
just needed the right info - I have one coming soon at $58!
Hi, first post over here.
Im about to order a XP1700+ Tbred, a K7S5A and a Sapphire Radeon 9000. Yes, that is cheap and not at all highend. I'm using two computers at the moment, one C466 (FreeBSD) and one C300A@450, TNT2 (WinXP), btw fear my 3dmark score =). I intend to upgrade booth of them, and I'm starting with the cheapest upgrade, so I can survive until upgrading for real in -03. I believe that doing an expensive upgrade at the moment is a really bad idea with Bartons, Granite Bay and what not coming "soon", for me atleast since I'm a poor student.
I have actually spent more on the cooling than what I´m spending now, have an Eheim 1060, a maze3 and a huge radiator waiting. I accidently killed my CII-700 when i mounted a home made waterblock just a tad too hard. I'm hoping to push the 1700+ to 2GHz even though its a crappy motherboard and I'm stuck on SDRAM at the moment, did I mention that I'm a poor student, guess I did. Oh well, you just can't lose at these prices.
nossid: are you going to add a dipswitch to the board to be able to control multipliers? Why not get a better board since you have all that watercooling? Even if you had multi control you would only get 12.5 X 150 and from 150 to 166 it's hard to say if you can be guaranteed stability.
Yes, I intend to add all hardware mods possible. I study computer science and engineering, should be a piece of cake. The reason for choosing this board is that I don´t want to buy any DDR RAM att the moment, to expensive for my taste and more particulary my budget. I know my memory bandwitdh will suck real bad but I can live with that aslong as i don't have to buy any more RAM. I will pass this upgrade to my unixsystem when i feel like upgrading for real next year.Quote:

If anyone have another motherboard to recommend I'd be happy. <100USD is what I'm aiming for and it has to run SDRAM and of course overclock better than the K7S5A. I live in Sweden so good deals at newegg and such is pretty worthless to me. I intend to spend aprox. 250-330USD for CPU, mobo, and GFX (GPU if you prefer that). I might pick up a MSI GF4 Ti4200 64Mb instead of the Radeon 9000 but that is kind of stretching my current budget.
/edit:
Ordered the 1700+, K7S5A and MSI GF4 Ti4200 64Mb yesterday, will report back when it gets here.
good luck - if you are held back consider switching to better rated ddr to reach 2.0ghz
do you need to join the L3 bridges if you want to overclock the other way and increase the multiplier instesd of the fsb and want to use a multi above the available 12.5 for this chip
This is something I want to know too, how to reach multipliers over 12.5. If possible please give me a hint or pass me an URL.Quote:

i just got the 1700+ today, and it reads:
AXDA1700DLT3C
RIWGA 0234
I havent seen this be4...
Does anyone have this?
it seems to be alot newer then the ones posted in this thread. Maybe my luck has turned around?
I just received two week 34 RIRGA 1700+ Tbreds and I was going to post the same kind of question about them.
I'm benching one right now and it just ran PiFast at 1994MHz and 1.85v... not too shabby! ;)
[edit]Just ran PiFast at 2022MHz@1.95v... 2GHz for $58 delivered![/edit]

my problem is my ddr wont do past 170FSB on any Reasonible timings.
i was able to bench at 180fsb, but i had to use the slowest timmings on everything. like 2.5-3-7-3-3 and no perfomance options clicked on.
So i hope i can run like 12x166 if this cpu will do sub 2ghz.
I've got a RIRGA stepping on it's way to me..... should be able to update this weekend.
Here are a couple screen shots of the RIRGA XP1700+ Tbred undergoing testing...

PiFast and Prime95 ran fine at the above speed and 1.90v but Folding required a bump up to 1.95v to be stable.
hey Jeff what board/ram do you have?
It's current on my Epox 8K9A2+ and Corsair XMS PC3500C2 with cooling being done by a ducted Air-TEC. I'm going to let it run throughout the night Folding, and then I'll probably upgrade one of my slower rigs. It should be able to hit 1.90-1.95GHz on plain old air without too much trouble.
crank your tbreds up ppl! Those ~ 2050MHz is just crappy! ;)
I want to see > 2,15GHz out of them.
Mine is week35 - so mine is the newest so far.
My 1700+ arrived today, will probably get my new motherboard tomorrow. Will be nice to see how it performs.

And yes, it is an AIUGA 0235. It is really a shame that it will have to reside in an ECS K7S5A. What is the fastest anyone is running with SDRAM, I need something to aim for.
