well i guess they gave them es samples for several reasons. if you give them an es chip they can review a 2.8 3.2 3.4 and 3.6ghz chip with only one cpu (if it has 14-18 multis unlocked) so you dont need to ship all the reviewers several chips.Quote:

Have you noticed though all these sites saying there is no lock are all using the press kit ES samples....wouldn't you think they would get a retail chip to be sure??
and maybe also because they wanted the reviewers to oc their systems to make it look like a promising platform. imagine nobody had found out about this ocing lock, a load of people would have jumped on the new 775 train and would have ended up with a sucky oc-locked system. i dont like thg, but i have to thank them a lot for pointing out that the chipsets feature an overclocking lock!
