The A8V review says that when you set the mem to asynch you can set the agp/pci.... locked
Still run 1:1, but with the option "asynch"

hmmm this is looking more and more interesting.
Jason just gave me the 1005 beta with locked AGP/PCI.
I posted it at Captaincascade.com for download.

Thanks OPP, downloaded and signed up!!
Thanks, I'll give it a try. I did find another issue. I set Trcd in the bios when I was running memtest86+, but checking with cpu-z shows that it's actually 3. The default SPD for my old XMS3500C2 is 2.5-4-4-8 at 200mhz, so I guess that could be a factor, but I doubt it.Quote:

Yeah, one of the reviews I read said they got a newer BIOS from Asus that did the trick...Quote:

Time to rock-n-roll!

Great this ought to be a good weekend for all of you guys. ;)
yes, good stuff guys. Where are the benchies!:stick:
The new 1005.002 bios does fix the problem with Trcd being forced to 3 when 2 is selected. Selecting 2 now gives 2. The pci/agp lock configuration is still nowhere to be found.
Update: multipliers are back, much nicer to select 12x rather than 2400.
bmg, are you able to get a higher FSB with 1005.002?
 its greyed out or not even a option? I really want locks on friday :(

But look at the images on page 5, no agp/pci lock setting is shown. There must be a trick to getting it.Quote:

Here's the image from page 2 showing the pci/agp lock.
looks to me when you select manual for cpu speed/voltage settings it becomes hidden. Or like you said there is a ctrl+BFE keystroke hidden in there somewhere:confused:
Have you flipped through your manual? I know its a "duh" question but i know i usualy dont actualy read through em unless i know there is a function i dont have.
I looked through the manual again. The bios setting shows the pci/agp lock and doesn't mention any special trick to get it.
bummer. Wonder why it only shows up in one of amdzone's pic's and not the other. I hope they dont pull a abit :slapass:
Of course it might just be enabled by default. I currently have no way of determining that for sure.
clock gen would tell you i believe:toast:
I hope s939 mobos will have 1T/2T option in bios :stick: I'm stuck with my C0 and no cpu interface option in da bios (at least i can't find it on my k8nnxp).
try the F9 bios... It should force t1 setting. :)
That BIOS gives me random reboots even at low OCs.Quote:

..and I couldn`t find an AGP lock in there either.
in the windows BIOS flash utility you have to go to the options tab click next and check BIOS downgradable to get it to flash back to the original file.
*edit* Lucky I saved the original BIOS file before updating!!
Looks like both the cpu and the A8V will be delivered today. Hopefully will have them in a couple of hours.
If anyone figures out how to make it boot to a single SATA drive, I can`t seem to be able to figure out the BIOS settings for it....plz post.
has anyone gotten it to work this way?Quote:
