I really like my R507'd Mach1. I only wish my NF7 would allow more FSB and a little higher overall clock. The board is just freakin' out at 3030MHz. ;)
Well the r507 isn't a $500 dollar mach I. The mods would probably put it pretty close in price. Second the noise of the LS is qreatly overplayed. Just ask bowman. I have a modeed mach I for my graphics card. Both units are about the same noise level
$650 total for the R507'd Mach1 I have.
you bought that new and had it modded.
Better buy what you can now as the price for these systems is going to sky rocket.
it's not the R507 prometeia I am talking about, it's the opinion of a very prominent member here who has owned both of these.
if he feels like telling his opinion about them he will, but it's not from a unknowledgable person that I learned this from.
I asked him cause I keep getting a friend of mine asking me what ones better, and I couldn't really guess.
so I asked the only person I knew that has owned just about every piece of hardware there is...
Is nventiv out of bussiness or went for Bankruptcy, because if they are out of bussiness they wont come back, and if the bakrupt they might comeback under same or different name, example would the Kmart which went for bankruptcy two years ago and still is around
Yep, I took the plunge when Kit-Tronics was selling them for $450 delivered. And then I had someone else do the upgrade for $200. It's funny because I bought two Mach1s a couple weeks apart... the R507 one I still own was NEVER run stock. ;) As soon as I received it, off it went for upgrading. :lol:Quote:

Well, I looked at OPP's review of the PE and its comparison to the mach I and also looked at his review of the XE. The mach I looks to compare better with the XE then the LS.
Everything else I've seen seems to indicate the LS is more on par with the mach II. Petervandammeds comparison and one that was using a A64 showed slightly better temps for the LS. There's also a German review of the LS which concluded it to be the best stock unit availalbe. Of couse the GT hadn't shipped yet.
Wow, great deal. I would have to ship one and it would cost another $100-$150 for the mod.Quote:

I'm doing a review right now on Vapo LS. I also put it up against the MachII. The CPU temps under load are almost exact. The MachII does do cooler Idle temps. They both Overclock the same.Quote:

i wonder what will happen with 275w of heat in the original mach2. :p:
I think Ill buy a LS soon before Asetek raises prices...
One of the reasons the prices on the Asetek units will rise, is because ppl will run for it now, being afraid the prices will go up in the near future.
Supply x Demand law. ;)
This is a shame with Nventiv. :( I was hoping to get a MkII this summer.
Competition is good for the consumer and for manufacturers. However as before Chip-Con/nVentiv our development and R&D will continue, and we have no plans for an increase in price.
something to point out, a mach 1 with r507 might only be $650, and the mach 1 alone might only be $500, but then they went bankrupt as that price couldn't keep profits high enough. So woohoo, lets complain bout asetek prices, so they drop them then go bankrupt too, an almost ingenius plan.
Thread is nventiv went kablewy, that= sad(to a point, for the people, but its never the end, people invovlved will work in similar jobs for a diff company).
thread= end
Gross. This is NOT good news. However we won't be 100% screwed. A 3rd party company could easily machine and mass produce new mounting kits. Hopefully astek will use their BUSINESS sense and offer a warrenty service for Nventiv units for a relativly small fee. Then people will experience astek's 'excellent' support and feel less aperhensive about purchasing their products in future. That was everyone wins, or at least comes closer to it.
Still sucks about Nventiv. Hopefully the previous employees will import themselves into north america and start a new business here.
if a PC60 costs $99 new at compusa, then why does a PC60 with a hole in the bottom cost 199 from Nventiv...
thats why they went bankrupt.
the prices on some of thier things was just too insane.
if people on these forums can make a cooler of some sort for about $300 and have a better one, for alot less, then theres no real reason to have prices like the $1900 dollars expected for a Mach GT with the PC 60 case.
for $1900 you could get a cascade almost...
thats true... building a comercial product with warranty (make sure it lasts long) costs a little more than building a ps unit yourself, but i think they had too many employees and thats what killed them. workforce is extremely expensive and can kill your business if you only supply a relatively small market...
Toms cascades :slobber:
The case doesn't cost that much, it depends where you look some of the hardware sellers charge as much as 199 for this case without window and any wholeQuote:

I never said Asetek will jack up prices....although they may. The independent dealers will JACK UP the price....Quote:

Like I said, prepare for $1000 LS units...
Now more than ever Asetek can put a sticker on an LS and put a better "air drier" on it or something and call it an LS-XS for like $1200, now that GT i no more... it's simple Business 101, supply and demand.
