LOL then I must be rich.. what a BS... Mushkin hand-built these modules for me... That guy must have been on mushrooms or something like that.
I believe that the only hand-built memory sticks that were ever built for Mushkin were hand-built by me and those are not amongst them.
I'm definately too cheap to buy PC3500 (even BH5) at those prices!
I paid £200 that is £270, guess I got a bargain. However generally its more expensive over here so that makes it an even better price. Some one emailed me wanting to buy these sticks and they weren't even for sale. He offered £225 and knew what I paid for them.

The Bandwidth Effienicy can be higher...~1% more @ CPC:Disabled but i lost 1% after install of more drivers...:/
I cant run 255.8mhz+ @ CPC:Enabled without cool down memmorys and the board.
Highest 1GB in sandra CPC:Disabled

The EB sticks look nice :). but how high Bandwidth Effienicy do you get @ 255.6mhz andyOCZ? , and when will they be in store in euro? and what will they cost?
One more thing andyOCZ can you test 10x230Fsb for me so we cane compare without i need to move my computer to the window :stick:
Sorry to post these intel numbers in an A64 thread, but one of the reasons I bought this ram was so that I could easily switch to Athlon64 and have Ram that would work equally well for both platforms. I have to say that I love my OCZ3500EB, it's worth every penny I paid.
Test Set up:
------------
2.4C @ 3.35Ghz - M0 Stepping @ 1.60v (1.552v Load)
P4P800-DLX Rev 2 - Bios 1016 @ 279mhz fsb
MAM-Enabled Performance-Standard
TT Tiger Northbridge HSF w/AS Ceramique
1GB OCZ PC3500EB @ 2.5-2-2-5 @ 2.85v (223mhz) 5:4 Ratio
ATI Radeon 9800 non pro @ 459/658 (A.C. VGA Silencer w/AS5)
Antec True Control 550watt PSU
Results
-------
Sandra Max 3
6,068 MB/s Buffered
3,212 MB/s Unbuffered
Aida32
5,479 Read
2,165 Write
Aquamark3

20,533
3dmark2003
6,492
Super Pi
41 Seconds (1M)
Double Prime95, Super Pi, Memtest86+ Stable
I know these numbers aren't as extreme as many people on this forum but I'll take them. I think it's awesome ram and it will do ddr510 @ 3-3-2-6 @ 2.85v. :toast:
The EB looks nice because a lot of people need a gig right now for the new games and might want to use it in Socket 939 down the road. Especially us NF2 owners. Good results at 3.0v is nice with all the horror stories about the A64 memory controller. If it's affordable then I'd be interested in some.
I ended up going with KHX3000 about a month ago because the price was right and the BH5 train is leaving. The CPC thing is a bit of a beotch and might be part of some reported bad results. Not a bad risk though considering. I would certainly try some before going ebay. (Noticed the linked one was sold with the buy it now option  ) Mine aren't even remarked :D Bit of an OT question from me though is there any snags like the CPC one with these sticks on A64 or gigs of BH5 in general?
Sucks the prices skyrocketted when some of the best games (and ram hungry) in a long while come out. Wide open worlds, conquering bases, etc is the in thing to do. Having more fun gaming on my computer than I have in a long time.
Hey texuspete2k2 :D
I don't think the A64 have this kind of problems as many Mushkin 3500 Lvl2 users are getting fine results with their double sided sticks.
IMHO the NForce2 is the cause for those cpc problems as it cannot handle too much ram banks stably  There must be too much noise...
/edit
As the A64 has it's own ram controller "onboard" that is cooled through cpu cooling the chances are better to get higher ram clocks, and due to the different architecture (lower latency) 512MB modules could possibly get much higher...
Don't have an A64 though, maybe someone can confirm my guesstimates...
Current A64 mobos, mainly nForce 3 150's, have problems with 512 dimms. I don't know why and I have yet to test this theory in my new AN50R. Ryan, wanna send me some new PC3700EB to test? ;)
I have some sweet 3700EB hopefully on the way and will run them at 2,8V in my AOpen and see how they do.My older 3500EB which is nowhere near as good as the 3700 did 250fsb easy with 2 modules but was not as good as running 1 dimm at higher fsb's.
I have a feeling we may see some ubber 1 gig modules soon so running 2 will not be an issue although 939 looms with dual channel. You have to remember we are looking like 3 to 6 months ahead all the time to try to stay ahead of the field.
I'm looking forward to some thorough 3700EB test results Tony. Put it through the wringer and let us know how it does.
Lastviking, I hear the PC3200/3500 EB is available in Germany, I beleive it was. So it's there at some vendors already.
I'm running some sbios tests on teh DFI right now so it's a bit lame at the moment with the shipping bios, but I'll get some more benches up atv 230fsb soon, and trya nd show you efficienct at 255fsb. (lol)
Where are you guys getting these at good prices in the US, excaliber, newegg ?
Well I guess the only way I'm going to be able to judge this stuff is to pick up a pair of 2 x 256mB PC3500EB for $214USD ( ) and report the results myself... :D
No fanboy adulation and no undo bias. I'll give it a run on 3 platforms, NF2, NF3 and i875P vs. BH-5, BH-6 and some relabeled Winbond.
Now look at the price, at $214USD, it's WAY more expensive than Mushkin L2 Black on eBay, and twice as expensive as KHX3000. SO, WOWWWW!! am I expecting great things. If not, hopefully I won't LOSE TOO MUCH MONEY pawning them off on eBay...
C ya next week.

Yeah. www.oc-wear.de has them :D
mmm, samples are a good thing :)
Charlie, make sure you do a voltage comparison, like the max the EB will do @ 3.0v, and the max BH-5 does @ 3.0v, and run Sandra / 3DM01 benchies to see how this stuff performs at equal voltages, not clocks, it would be nice to have ram that can hit BH-5 speeds, without having to vmod for 3.0v+ ... Of course i'd love to see how this stuff handles 3.4-3.6v :slobber:
Good luck !
Why does the PC3700EB run @ CL 3-3-2-8 ? Can it run 3-2-2, or even 2.5-2-2 getting bandwidth closer to 2-2-2 ?
The EB modules will rarely run cas2...they are optimised for cas2.5.The 3700 will run 2.5-2-2 on many boards even reaching 250fsb on occasion with these settings, mostly though it will need cas3.
Ryan has posted 3-2-2 well over 250fsb and im sure we will start seeing more posting similar scores soon. Please understand TRCD and TRP with an optimised TRAS is much more important than cas2 ever will be.
Ryan has run upto 3.2V and says they perform well, you must remember though high fsb's creates heat on its own without adding to voltage so cooling the dimms well is a must.I have been running 260fsb with mine and without cooling they error like mad in memtest.
One last thing, and i keep saying this: we are not saying these are better than BH5 as at 200fsb they are not. What we are saying is they are the match of CH5 running 2-3-2 timings with 2.5-3-2 and faster if you can run 2.5-2-2.They also overclock further than CH5 with less voltage.
As I told BigToe by email, I see a spot where EB may have an advantage.... at high 1:1 on i875P platform...like when I ran the Prescott up to 4609mHz, 265-275 at 2.5-2-2-5 would be quite nice. At 275, BH-5 has to run 5:4 for 220mHz @ 2-2-2-5. Also on A64 it may be interesting... wil see.

what kind of cooling are you speaking of? a fan over dimms, heatsinks on ics, etc.?Quote:

you need to cool em, i use 2x80mm fans sat on the dimms but i have the boards flat on a test bench.Pushing nice cool air over the dimms will really help though whether your in a case or not.Quote:

Question: Still using crappy heatspreaders?
I have no love of heatspreaders.. not one I have ever laid my hands on has every worked worth its make... and this goes for all manufacturers ;)
hey but it looks purty, doesn't that count ? :P

I'm just waiting for the egg to stock them. Excaliber has the price way to high for me atm.
