btw, 4 chips a side is still single sided 256mb, iirc .. my mushkies are are like that.
iirc, when OCZ released their PC3700 GOLD EL revision 1, 512MB dual packs, they (I can't remember if it was bigtoe or a review site) said that those modules as well as other "brands" with 4 chips on each side were double-sided memory.Quote:

I remember the site or one of OCZ's employee's stating that because they were "double-sided", they improved bandwith compared to "single sided" because of the double-sided chips.
just like how the 512MB modules had more bandwidth because of the chips on both sides.
I might be wrong, maybe bigtoe can confirm this.
Cheers,

Here's what i've understand from the DW-50 lables:
(correct me if i'm wrong)
DW-50 is BH-5 but there are BH-6's too wich are relabled as DW-50.
The BH-6 got the lable because they fit kingston's DW-50 standard.
This standard is based on BH-5 but the (best) BH-6's who perform similar to BH-5 will be labled as DW-50 too.
Conclusion: All DW-50 is or performs the same as BH-5.
Again... this is just my theory based on what i've picked up in my search on the subject.
Reading all this BH-5/CH-5 stuff finally got to me so I decided to removed the HS from my old HyperX PC-3500. I heard they were hard to remove so I used what I usually use to clean my CPU mods, lacquer thinner. I figure if it doesn't cause any damage to a CPU it should work on RAM too right?Quote:

...so I quick-dipped the 2 sticks and the spreaders practically fell off by themselves leaving behind a clean and re-usable tape.
and looks like they are indeed BH-5's after all... :D
