I'd be interested in the FDD mod also...just did the LM63 mod, and the FDD mod would pretty much complete the card :)
I'm thinking of doing the vref mod this weekend. However, if I understand the way it works right, then I should "disable" the other mods before doing vref as changing vref will also change the other vmods....or am I thinking wrong?
Yes you're wrong ;)
The Vref Mod also changes vddq but it leaves the Vgpu and Vddr untouched.
Ok, so I won't have to touch those then. But by modding vref, it also raises vddq, which (from what I understand) should be close to but less than vddr....ummm...right? and as long as it's within those limits it should be fine?Quote:

Yes thats right.
Vddq can be measured where the 2.75V value is shown in the image on page 3. I have to measure on the frontside of my card as the cap doesnt have legs that look through the PCB.
everyone thanks bigZ for being a     about helping the community lol.

maybe you'd do your duty and post the whole email? rather than the flaked version that you chose to post yourself. All I asked for was a PM/email before you used my images.Quote:

you can find the unedited version of the email in this thread here: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=57628
As I said in my second email to you, my images are my job, not just a casual pastime.
Now, lets not stray off the topic, Unoid, and keep our differences off these forums.... or at least out of this topic.
I just measured some voltages and connections on my card. I found some points that are directly connected to 12V and 5V from the PSU:
http://www.wakuebau.de/bilder/9600xt_volt.gif
HEres the datasheet for the 12V component: http://www.anpec.com.tw/products/dow.../APM7313a5.pdf
The 5V component is produced by fairchild but I cant find the Datasheet although I already had it before. But it also is an Dual channel enhanced mode MOSFET.
Would it be safe to connect the 12V and 5V directly from PSU to avoid the traces on the mobo? What about ground, would it be better to also connect the gronud directly from PSU to the card?
Edit: found datasheet #2: http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/FD/FDS6898A.pdf
Connecting the PSU rails directly to the card would provide less noise and possibly more stable voltages - but I would advise against connecting another ground to the card - the last thing you need is ground loop problems.
yea all booster mods only connected the + rails from the psu.
Ok, just connected 3.3, 5 and 12V to the card.
It changed nothing :toast:
Same overclocks as always.
bummer...I was hoping you found something there. If you were able to increase core while maintaining mem I would've done it also. Right now, if I increase vcore to get more Mhz, my mem speed needs to be lowered b/c artifacting no matter what voltage.Quote:

why are you trying to supply power to the vmod chips? all they do is tell the mosfets how fast to switch on and off. you are ment to be doing that at the mosfets ;)
btw what kinda cooling are you guys useing?
do you think that connecting the power supply rails directly to the mosfets on the card would yield any benefit? maybe cure the problem that a lot of us have with raising vcore that tends to decrease the speed we can run our memory????Quote:

btw, cooling on my card is a P233MMX heatsink that has been modified by Mr. Dremel to fit on/around the components on the card. card runs at 40c when under a full load in games.
Cause I dont have the knowledge that is needed for such mods ;)Quote:

Could you please tell where I should connect the rails? a pic would be great :)
I use watercooling on my card. Never passes 30°C even with 1.8V.
Hopefully! :DQuote:

@ Functional
your idea of doing it to those chips was correct, but do the same thing to the mosfets... look for continuity on the mosfets to each of the rails, 5v,3.3v, and 12v. also check what voltage is fed to the mosfets. just do some probeing in other words ;)
Hi guys and gals.IM not in the same league with my an53 ultr, but i found a volt mod ferdat.I have same card as bald guy like me.What i need is pictures of the mem mod for-9600xt.I can c the picyure for the gpu. What i cant c is the voltage mod for the mem. This card has samsung c24a.Could u guys please put pics for mem mod online.
thorougbred 2600 poor stepping 228x10.5 0r 240x10

thats bout nuf
ooo by the way look on page 3 top fer me
any processsor any vid card CPU03
not bad fer sub $450 tower
sry to post again, but same pot is less thatn$2.50 from radio shack.Ill get 5:banana:
THe adjustable 1
yea get one with as many turns possible
ahh crap!Big z got me interested in this fore his card croaked.
Unless i steal my little brothers card and, blame it on him im not moving.Iwould love too c the whole project in detail, and with pictures.I planed a whole mod around this.Thats what i get fer stealing steling there ideas, but thats how ive gotten this far with my overclocking.Bigz if i had the dough id send u a card.If ur ever in the us stop by for dinner though.Thx fer the start bro cheers.
I must have scared you all away with my spelling.I just switched cpus, and its a superlocked 2500.The cpu overclocks to 2450 with a CPUMARK04 of 4307.2nd page in 9600XT- all processors, but my 3DMARK03 has droped considerably.
How safe is this mod.Ihave the pots, and am ready,But i have a saphire radeon 9600XT which differs in pictures to whats being shown.Although the gpu is the same the samsung is the 2.8ns,and i havent seen that yet.
It overclocks to around 610cpu 355mem,but i would like at least 700-360.
These amd procesors are grat for the price.I was a pentium guy for like 5 yrs.Can anyone tell me how easy it is to do the pencile mod for a mobile? When i looked at the bridges they
seem to close for comfort.Thats looking through a magnifying glass!
If i can get this to use cpumsr will it fly?Somehow i believe if i could reach 10.5X? this thing could fly. With my unlocked 2600
the fsb stable was 240.Now im lucky to get 220 stable with geil3500 on a AN35ULTRA.I tried pin mod twice lol fore i found out
nuf questions fer me:-)

Hi
I wantdo the vgpu and vmem mod this or next week... My card does without any mods 615/355  .. my question is: can i connect this on the readout points permanently? I hope the card will do 750mhz or something like this..
Sorry for the bad English..
greets
Flexus
nice stock o/c there. with a bit of vmodding you just might hit that 750.Quote:

I dont see why you wouldn't be able to fix that permanently. I assume it's simply a voltage meter right?
Where can I measure the memory voltage? At the 2.87V here ? Im soldering the mods at the moment and I want to connect my voltmeter now..
edit: i have tested it.. core 1.3V@1.4V ram 2.65V@2.75
