you can allways use the things i wont tell you about, and for the others it doesnt mind if they are whatever they are, all it minds is that they are real things.

dont you have any dead bords to rape a cap from?
I have a couple boards to pillage :D but it's not enough caps...
C
BTW, my GEIL runs 236ish 2-2-2-5 Turbo at 2.8V....will I gain much by getting BH-5??
what do you mean not enough caps? even 1500uf will do
Come on brother charles bring out the extreme cooling....This review will show us prommy fiends if the prescott is worth getting :)
Btw how stable is the voltage on the IC7?
I have OLD mobo's with 1000uF 10V caps...only 1 1500uF 6.3V, lol
I've made the mistake of throwing away the last 2 modern mobo's I killed, a A7n8X and a P4C800-e :(
C
my bh5 needs 3v+ for that...Quote:

Voltage seems stable enough...
a bit undervolting on the core, and overvolting on the DDR.
It's about this thing called "work", it really sucks and gets in the way of overclocking, but it's a neccessity :(
Will try to run some DI benchies tonight..
Saaya, oopppss.. I'm mistaken. It runs 2-3-2-5 at 236ish.... :(
C
use something, it is very important
will do :D
Well if you want maximum performance you should get some BH-5..
bh5 needs volts though.... bh6 needs less volts for the same fsb with 2-2-2 timings than bh5, so id say get bh6.
ocz bh6 memory should clock nicely with low volts.
Oh that bites charlie...
got plenty of free time here...Mid winter recess. Got so bored that I ordered a Mach2 and a VapoXe...Going to try to become a developer and impress amd with some nice 3dmark 01 scores so I might get to test a few chips :D
I would say, depends on the pait of sticks.Quote:

Some BH-5 do well, some BH-6 do well.
I'd prefer some Muskhin Level II but Mushkin run out of BH-5.
Their 3200 Level II are BH-6 now.
I had a pair of bh-6 that could do 230 @ 2-5-2-2 on my 3400+. Nice sticks but could be better
BH5=5ns, BH6=6ns. So the BH5s are still faster.
I dont know if its true, but BH6 was not made to be at some lower clocks, like in some PC2700-3000 and BH5 for PC3200-3500?
Nope.Quote:

There were 3500 CL2 with BH-6 or Samsung.
Or maybe you can try o get some 4.3ns GeIL or Hynix to work at 217 MHz 2-2-2-5
It can't.Quote:

the ns rating doesnt mean anything. bh5 is just bh6 made in smaller manufacturing process. and i havent heard of a bh6 stick that oced bad... while i heard of a lot of bh5 sticks that dont oc good at all.
bh5 ocs higher but needs more volts , bh6 ocs higher with low volts...

use the old ones then, if you want you can even put 2 of the 10v ones in paralel to get 2000uf and a lower esr.
you will want the voltage as close as possible and its imposible to solder 2 caps without cables. use the 1 1500uf
the voltage rating of the caps doesnt have anything against my potatoes
Be sure to take some pics.Quote:

or even a video if possible, would love to hear the sound of cooking methanol :D
A video would be very cool but it would have to be taken by someone else. Managing DI is hard enough as it is.
Just a little experimenting during lunch...
OC's even better on 14x... this in a relatively warm room...
and at only 1.52V
