Guys someone recently told me that the ud7 will be phased out, and what ever items have been produced (~300 boards total) will be the only ones made and it will be replaced by a board with the name x79s-ud5. Has anyone heard anything about this?

Awesome work dude. I'll definitely watch for this...
I really wish I could get the F4 BIOS from Gigabyte, this is not a BETA Bios correct?
I fixed my USB 3.0 issue with beta drivers, but the problem is that my speeds are ass-tastic. My HyperX USB drive is 1/4 the speed it should be.
have you tested AUTO LLC to see what it does
on UD5 i tested yesterday, 1.4v in bios results at 1.427v idle, 1.426v load... pretty sick LLC

dinos- ill test that out, did you try normal setting? i didn't test hat but i am guessing its standard.
barfastic- i didn't hear about that, but it doesn't sound impossible. I mean the price of the two boards are so similar, with the UD7 being a bit more. But imagine the confusion, they had nice color coding for their boards this way lolRussian- I think that was because they didn't get them out sooner.
I know, I laughed when i realized where it was coming from.
The thing is, though, thats like $500 overnight. More than the board is worth. I doubt they'd spend that much money on a board they wouldn't even bother producing. I think its a very good board, but I've gotta get it working right first.
You think $500? I think closer to 1/5 of that. But that is true its not cheap.
Try F4, it has major improvements from F2. Have you tried it yet?
I'm trying it now for a few reasons.
1. After LEO @ GBT asked for me to reinstall the OS, I started getting lockups again after I thought I had fixed them (apparently only temporarily)
2. The system is locking up even in Safe Mode when I try to run CrystalDiskMark on a USB 3.0 drive
3. I get lockups regardless of what hardware I'm running... as in, I've swapped GPUs, RAM, SSDs, etc.
4. These lockups started after I tried running a 2400MHz Kit of RAM on this board and the board started to crap itself since then
5. Most of the issues have been centered around 'storage' on this board as the USB 3.0 and SATA 2.0 ports have actually given BSODs when stressed
6. Prior to this previous install I got lockups on SATA 2.0 ports whenever I ran CrystalDisk Mark on them... that concern shifted to the USB 3.0 controller once all of the hard locking went away and I realized my USB 3.0 performance was horrendous.
really? hmm i haven't heard of that before, i am using an SSD, and i have been doing a lot of clocking.
I have a USb 3.0 device I am going to try that.
Okay, i went through a :banana::banana::banana:ton of hell and I really don't think I should've listened to the Gigabyte rep when he said to downgrade to F2 because that only caused more issues.
F4 BIOS flashed and everything is A-OK. My speeds are back above 200MB/s on USB 3.0 and no lock ups. Thank the lord I don't always listen to what I'm told :)
I was THIS close to RMAing the damn thing.
Hello guys.
I recently bought a rampage iv extreme and didnt like it. Its good for oc, but has lacks in other points, the first pciexpress is very near from cpu and memory, bluetooth not working correctly...
I like much more the xl-atx for many reasons. I had giga x58a ud9 and liked so much that I've just ordered a x79 ud7.
What bios do you think is working best, f4? Which is the best method to flash, @bios or qflash??
Thanks in advance.
use qflash and F4 is the best ATM.
Hey sin,
I cant get past 6A to save my life. I maybe get past it every 25 or so boots. But only in single channel.
I was booting fine a while back even dual channel but i have since left the board for a while and now testing it i cant get past 6A. And when i do it works fine (only single channel).
And to answer the question you are about to ask yes i did use @Bios :P. flashed to F4. cause in the bios it doesnt detect my USB drives when i use QFLASH. tried NTFS and FAT32. any suggestions?
have 3 different kinds of memory, only one CPU.
I found that for the bios to see my usb in qflash I had to wait till I got in qflash and then plug in the usb. Any time before that and it would not show.
for 6A disable "ratio change in OS"
i always use red ports myself, didnt realise blue would even work with qflash
yea same i didn't know blue would even work with qflash, i thought USb 3.0 ports didn't work until drivers were loaded. maybe they do tho. I remember seeing once that there was one USb 2.0 port that worked best for qflash, but i didn't see that for this board.
Just format the drive again in FAT32 with right click in explorer, that is what i do. Maybe you need to use a small drive? like under 4GB? who knows.
Hello people.
Received today morning the board ud7. Made setup, entered to windows and then flashed to new bios f4 through qflash.
After flashing, the pc restarted and started to show a screen saying system unstable because of overclocking. I had all in auto without any overclocking, but memory timings and voltage to 1.655.
After three times saying the same, the system at last started to load windows, but suddenly the pc was in fire, with smoke coming from it.
Opened the case and saw 4 cpu phases burned out. I have just contacted my reseller to make a rma. Meanwhile I am using again the rampage iv. I have been lucky cos the other components are safe.
So, first impression of the board, VERY VERY BAD....
Regards from Spain.
