Low 1.4v's is good for FULLY stable 5GHZ, peeps showing 5GHZ running with low volts benching PI are not fully stable!
You have just found out Prime or IBT will fail it!

ZOOME
YOUR GFX creates too much heat, until there is room for more OC on your CPU
you ned a 2x360
made this for my son to run 5.4GHZ 24 / 7, same motherboard/tower as your vcpu 1.56v whit 1 XSPC RX360

Thanks guys, but I don't think the graphics cards are the problem as they run at 30Degrees when Idling. Obviously they don't get used when priming. You'll also notice my loop goes through to my Radiator and then straight to my CPU for max cooling performance for the only overclocked item (i.e. the cpu - I dont overclock my graphics cards).
I'm sure this board requires more voltage than usual and still finding it VERY fiddly to get stable with anything above 4.6ghz. This is my first Intel chip in a long time - I'm great with overclockign AMD stuff, but not good with overclocking intel especially SB stuff! Any pointers more than welcome.
@@ Martin V.R. - Any chance you could post the settings you are using for your sons setup please? thanks.
You can finde en help here, also has a post in the thread,
have a different motherboard today, but there is hardly any difference between them,MaximusIV-Extreme.

right then!
I've managed to get it both IBT and prime95 blend stable @ 5ghz on only 1.41v
however - the temp on it is just too high - Can't believe I am hitting 80Degrees (70-ish on average) with my watercooling setup.
My previous 1090T running 4Ghz @ 1.47v was only kicking out 56-59Degrees C and then I could feel the heat being dumped out of my rad. This 2700k is hitting nearly 80Degrees but I can't feel any heat coming out of the rad?
Any ideas guys?
I use this from EK
so I can get a high pressure water block
http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/8012/img0644sg.jpg
I've got the same on mine mate - only cost me a fiver :)
So you saying my Supreme HF isn't a high pressure waterblock?
One thing I have noticed is that by the time the water goes through the two gfx card blocks, round the rad it sort of trickles through the CPU (I can tell because when I bleed the system and re-add water it trickles through the pipe going from the rad to the CPU block).
If I moved the loop around so it went like this would it help?
RAD>RES>PUMP>CPU>GPU1>GPU2>RAD?
I have exactly the same heat problem with my 2600k and the supreme hf nickel block. Ive proved "everything" , different TIMs, refit, i open the block to see if there was something wrong with it but im getting the same "high" temps. My chip needs 1.47v in order do 5ghz so my cores can go up to 90 degrees during prime or ibt. I decided to try my "oldie" nickel plated heatkiller v3.0 and i got i better results. I dont know what to say:confused:
Did u try different jetplates mate? I know EK have just released a new one today on their website

My block came without extra jetplates. I think ill give the new jetplate a try and I really hope that it'll work because i expected more from this block but unfortunately, until now it was a disappointment...
RAD>RES>PUMP>CPU>GPU1>GPU2>RAD? is super
have a cpu more there will x56, but I am building out, so I will run with 2 pumps + 4 360 radiator XSPC RX360
I'm maybe a little crazy :D
will see if I can get it to wPrime 1024 at 5.5GHZ
perhaps more on water
So I took this to the next level and removed the GPU blocks.
My CPU is definately prime and IBT stable @ 5ghz on 1.41v but just needed the temps bringing down.
So now I currently have a Thermochill 120.3 (3x1450 GT's) running on JUST the CPU. I've reseated - checked TIM etc and temps are better but still in the high 70Degrees C when priming - IBT (normal) can hit 80 still :(

before you say it - yer I know the pumps wonky lol ;) Will hopefully sort that when I get the newer EK jetplate
I run the #3 jet plate in mine with great results.
How do you spread the paste?
With my old Amex card.:yepp:
Pea sized method works best as tested at hardwaresecrets.com
I use a mouse drop size centered, I also do not have any temp problems though I believe that was zoomee.
A drop the size of a mouse?
Do as maker tell you to on their site!
Lol. I use the rice size drop method in the middle too. Think ive got to the bottom of my temp issues. Seems the second hand rad i bought is the problem. God knows what the last user was using but i keep getting green bits of gunk (think it was his coolant/colour mixture) stuck in the cpu block. Grrrr. I've also got llc issues with my board (its unstable at high volts i.e 1.4v) so im settling for 4.8 at ~1.35v for 24 useage for now. Prime95 temps are about 65 with IBT maximum hitting 70. Liveable for now
