Yea but those were 45nm, now we're talking 32nm chips though, I've run 1.53v 24/7 on a E6750 and 1.43 ~ 1.45v 24/7 on my i7-860 but 1.4 ~ 1.45v seems quite a lot for 32nm chips, I'd still probably use at least up to 1.4v on SB or possibly a bit more depending on how good/bad the sample is but wouldn't hurt to get more info from an Intel guy itself. :p

Well so far these chips sure do handle quite a bit of volt, Only seen 2 dead cpus so far with 1.5v+

Seems to me the 2500Ks are getting around the same clocks, but at a lower VCORE, since no hyperthreading on the 2500K.

Very interesting!

Most interesting to me is the SSD caching statement (at the very end).

Yet no mention of a replacement for the 980 to go with? :shrug:
i guess they have to get some more $ from all of us for x58 procs before they give us 6, 8 and 12 core procs on the new platfrorm. :rolleyes:

I might not buy a 990 after all -may just wait for the new 12 core.

Not tested, but i'm on x49 at 1.36v atm, 20 pass LinX max mem stable :)

I just got mine up and running after going to MicroCenter for their cheap bundle of the Asus P8P67 and the i5 2500k for $299. I was going to upgrade my AMD setup by getting an 1100T 6 core Phenom for $279 but was too tempted by the much faster i5 for only $20 more with a mobo.

My results:
2500k
L041B800
P8P67
stock intel crap cooler
1.32v according to CPU-Z
4.533 ghz according to CPU-Z

7.07 on Cinebench 11.5
8.752s for superPi 1M

Also picked up the new G.Skill Ripjaws CAS 6 DDR3 1600's too.

I have an older TRUE and Titan Fenrir sitting around - the 1156 adapter for the Titan Fenrir won't fit on the ASus P8P67 so I ordered the old style X Thermalright 1156 Bolt Thru Kit ( the type B kit won't fit either).

Check out this review from Bit-Tech and how they quickly got to 4.9ghz with a Corsair H50 on the Asus P8P67:

It appears that this thread is pointless as every single 2500k/2600k can do 4.8g stable with good air cooling. There is no golden batch like i7-920 3849a

Still no list on first post? Your edit is a good attempt, but we need a bit more than that.
If you don't have time, say it, then maybe somebody else (one who is following this thread, and got a post on the first page), can make a good list of all documented results.

But until then, a question for you guys who have been following, what's the best 2006k batch# to look for?

I mean you figure the $179 for the CPU then my MOBO was only $119. That is the only reason I got it. I would have liked to get a Gigabyte board but couldn't pass up on a P67 for only $119.

H50 looks pretty good to me. I know it is not an awesome water kit by any means but it will serve me fine. Not trying to hit 5.5 ghz. I would be happy with a 24/7 4.5ghz clock that is dead stable and relatively cool.

What kind of over clock do you have so far? I am using the AI Suite II for my OC so far. It is very easy to use.

It is still early but the L040Bxxx are looking pretty good. I wouldn't mind testing L040B307, L040B208, L040B165 but I'm sure there are others out there...

I have the same Batch# as you. Glad to see it will do 4.5GHz on 1.32v.
I have the P8P67 Pro. How hard is it to overclock since I've been out of the game for a while? And what's the stock volts on the cpu? I won't know until tomorrow when I put everything together.
