so is it safe to flash to the d4 bios using the flashmenu? I'm just concern that it might screw my mobo
Yeh i used v1.32 from windows xp, rebooted and it worked fine :)
Good luck, there shouldnt be any problems at all!
Post back if it works dude.
well, so far i've tryed the 10b4 & the 21b-turbo neither worked very well for me. wouldnt even go 220fsb. then i tryed the 22b4x2
and it seems so far to be pretty good. dropping the multi to 9.5 i've hit 240fsb with 2.2.2.6 timings. i bumped up to 11x but it wouldnt do it (yet), so for now im @ 11x230fsb. sandra looks real good. tomorrow ill give 3DMark a try. Thanks guys!:D
:( emmmm.... i'm going for 3 months holiday tommorow.... c ya next time:toast:
have a good time TICTAC :)
Hay all.
I got up @4am like always to go to work, its -10f outside & +45f in my basement so i decided to bench, i bumped her up to 11x232fsb & ran 2k1. WOOHOO! she ran thru without a hitch and ran higher then she ever did @ 11.5x227fsb & 12x220fsb. I have 2 1700+ DLT3C's that have gone 2.7/2.8ghz
but @ lower fsb. my sights are set on 11x250fsb benchable! i have the chips and now i may have the mobo to do it with. THANKS GUYS! ill keep you posted.:D
1 - It's safe to flash any of these bios' using the windows based flashmenu. If you're concerned about this software messing up your motherboard then you really shouldn't be messing with beta bios'yet until you've got deeper into things and understand your board a bit better...
2 - The rest of a lot of these questions can be found out by simply flashing to the bios, hitting bench, then comparing to previous bench... if scores are higher then gr8. If lower then flash to a different one and try again. The more people that do this and post back results with each bios, the easier it will be to answer questions in the future regarding which bios works best in which set of circumstances.
3 - CPU Interface enables the 1T Command Rate timing that used to be referred to a lot on KT333 chipset mobos.
4 - DAMN! Stumbled onto this thread a bit l8...! Will run all of these thru on my rig over the weekend and see where I get to... got some Corsair 4400 that could be handy (albeit at slow timings on the nF2 boards)
Great piece o' work tic tac... look forward to playing with these!
Hmmm my comp dosn't seem to want to bench, keeps fkn crashing. Oh well gotta replace heatsinks on nrothbridge and add one on southbridge to make sure its good.
Flash tommorow night, hopefully it all goes well on my first bios flash.
i hav newer version for D22... beta king.... tested by beta tester peform faster than D22 b4x2 ... u can give it a try also... some can hit higher clock with lower vcore...:toast:Quote:

Shroom, you have PM
@vlad - about your good results with 22b4x2 - how does that compare with a stock Abit BIOS on your system? Did you hit higher FSB at 9.5 multi?
Yes! the highest i got was 236fsb. Now so far 240, I tryed 242 it booted then frooze, but was after a long bench run & think's were getting warm. You must understand this is my bench ONLY rig so 100% stablity is not my main concern. sometimes i get luckyQuote:

& get a completely stable combo & sometimes i dont. As long as she'll run benchers for a few hours im happy. My Epox rig was unbeleavable Rock stable 24/7@ 2725mhz, but my NF7-S has never been that stable @ Xtremely high OC's. Ill be giving BetaKing a try this weekend.
Thanks TicTac!
One comment about flash procedure for the betas. It seems that the Flashmenu version 1.32 fail to clear CMOS correctly.
So if u going to use any of the Betas after flash shutdown, Power off ur PSU and Clear CMOS, otherwise probably u wan t see any deference between abit’s and tictac's modded BIOS.
This was the case in first Beta version (B1-4) when I tested them
Cheers to Tictac for his time and effort on every beta release.

Keep up the good work with the NF7 bioses though :)
Its too bad tictac took down the servers for his BIOS downloads. Apparently things got too 'heaty' for him, forum bans and all.
I hope someone picks up where he left off - he was on the right track.
spread BS? :slobber:Quote:
