Actually, using the Geminis with the buffered base is perfect. It takes less frequent pouring than an F1EE, which makes it perfectly suited for temperature control, especially with a chaotic rig like the SR2 which has so many containers to worry about. You don't need to pour it as often so you don't have to pay as close attention to each of the Geminis. And of course, it pulls down to temp quicker, and can be heated up quicker as well...there were a couple of times when one of the cpu's cold boot bugged for instance.
after using the slower base now for a number of times i am starting to think i need an even slower base with more mass.............what do ya reckon vinboe :D

I tested some different variants of a buffered style slower base when doing the first rev of the F1 gemini and this one seemed to have the best balance with the cpu-game test transitions and really the ability to put the temps where you want them on the fly during benching without being too swingy.
A main objective was for the pot to be as efficient as possible with regards to mass/perf ratio. Perf being the ability to deliver the clocks on any cpu.
The beauty of this modular F1 is that I can do whatever I want with it in the future and tailor it to the needs of current cpus. I can do whatever u guys want with future components.
I might have something planned for more massive future "lazy mans" base. That kind of tuning has its limitations in some situations if its all u have, but with a modular pot like this it doesn't really matter. With smaller less massive bases/pots its so much easier to deal with cbb/cb and pulldowns/warmups. That is something that is KEY in this sr2 benching especially when there is huge difference between gametest clocks :up:

vince what do you suggest when the holes in the heavy base ice over :confused: I was wondering why my temps werent going down when I was idling in xp then notice that all the holes had filled with ice. Tryed breaking through with a flat head then a little pick but its solid. :eek: anyone else get this? sorry OT

Ice occurs in the pot for a bunch of different reasons. Condensation mostly from longer sessions and if you use the torch a lot, it will build up pretty quickly. Some prefer a little ice in the pot for more reactive temps actually. Hipro5 used to pour water into his pot once frozen to make a nice ice layer at the bottom for temp control on his beast gorillakos pot. I and others torch all pots we bench on once they hit around -90c to make a nice ice layer on bottom of the pot, it always makes the pot perform better. I blast the built up ice outta there during long sessions with an air compressor if it gets really bad, but tbh the ice shouldn't really effect the units ability to remove heat until those pits are completely packed, and even then its not too bad unless your doing something like running long benches such as wprime at max max clock/volt. Sometimes I want the pot like this and I fill the pits with wet paper towel/ice to get a more buffered effect with no negative effect on heat removal. The ICE is really easy to remove tho if thats what u want.. get some compressed air and give the pot a blast right after u pour some ln2 in it
