Are you suggesting that I was in on this?

I'm glad the 1st will be over in 23 minutes. We can get back to the real world again.
This is like the time last year that I "invented" the E8700 out of thin air. http://www.xcpus.com/reviews/140-Int...re-Page-1.aspx
Then the chip actually did get made :p: So maybe Interlagos will really have that level of performance, we can always hope right
Those dang E8700 pictures I made are still most of the top search results online and have snuck all over the place and left the April Fools part of it all behind, so I can understand your concern since you actually care about what info spreads around :yepp:
I kinda wonder what is going trough admins heads because they havent still killed this thread even though there have been good actual reasons for doing so (still they acted very protective to MM and Kingpins containers internals which is penny business which is kinda amusing). They let it float on the internet out of spite or something? Maybe instead theyll ban me for saying this and this thread is let to live on?
Im not critizing anyone but i think this kind of rumours are not ok if they can harm someone personally.
Better to be in the papers, than not. I would think in future just laughing it off and saying not true, would of been a far better way of dealing with it. The reason the story isn't dead on here, if I may be frank on the mater, is because you did come in with a OTT response.
If anything you should be pleased that your willingness to engage the lay public, has caused your name to be mentioned in the article, and long let your forum face live on.
As they say, better to be talked about (in the AMD sense), than not. AS a marketing bod, I'm sure you will agree with that.
Not directly, but your previous actions were bound to create the premises for something like this.
The constant hype ( either direct or simulated ) and raising people's expectations while at the same time downplaying the competitor's products created a certain aura around Bulldozer. While obviously, this is beneficial for your company from a marketing POV, at the same left you vulnerable. You've engaged with speculators ( like Dresdenboy ) and offered inside snipets from time to time directing him.
The question is why are you offended by the prank ( albeit a bad taste one ) :
- your name in it ? Like I've said, self-inflicted. This is what happens when you loiter on an enthusiast site where the average age is 16 years and everybody's problem is how to OC their microwave. Of course, going into real server forums with real server people and engineers is a very different league with other expectations.
- are the predictions too close to reality ? If so, kudos to Dresdenboy and his research. His ambition and your snippets put him on the right track. At the same time, this let's the sniffers at Intel to sense that something is going on in this direction. Whether they've already studied the work of Dresdenboy or they are currently, is a different topic. With 1 year to go, this might give them some threshold to aim for with Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge.
Psychosis ? I beg to differ; my only weapons are logic and good old common sense. Somehow, you seem to lack at least one of them.Quote:

[edit]
kill the dam thread already.
well, he loves doing marketing
this guy told people to wait a little more in a thread about intel xeon 5600 series
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...8&postcount=27
what would you expect? :ROTF:
i think we need one of our techy users to write a post algorithm which checks what topics you post in and what the context of your posts are and label your vendor fanboy relationships under the user name/title.
then allow people to hide or suppress posts by fanboys of their choice.
that sure would make this forum quite xtreme as far as webpage technology goes. and id bet it could catch on in alot of other places too
funny how here fanboys lable others as fanboys... this fits perfectly fine for this issue
i cant believe that AMDzone did this.even though its just one member(administrator) that did it,others(mod's and member's)seem to think it was fine.
but a few there do see it as a problem.they still have the thread open for discussion which makes me wonder why some here are calling for THIS thread to be closed?
XS didnt do this.i dont think JF-AMD is calling out anyone here, when he says this was uncool.and i can totally understand him when he says that by quoting him for
this joke, its puts his job at risk and his reputation with his clients.this was very bad judgment on their part, yet in their thread the debate goes on over there about
whether it was wrong or not.it clearly was wrong to have put him in this position.
the sad thing is,as this thread shows, lots of people think AMDzone is the official forum of AMD.which its clearly not
??! I was talking about AMDZone. That's where the story broke out, didn't it ? Whether statistically this forum has a similar distribution, that could very well be so.
His post said nothing about the story behind. If you can't connect the dots between his excessive ( for such a ranking figure in a company ) presence all over the enthusiast forums, his motives and what it ended up, sorry, your problem. If it fits you, please continue to take his words as truth. Let the "fanboys" to actually use their brain and not be so gullible.
We're talking about different things. His post was how is this affecting him, while I'm talking how he got there.
I believe we can agree to disagree on the topic in the future.
Coming from someone who has Informal set as friend tells volumes. At least I'm not indulging in hypocrisy.
I think that lots of people are thinking that AMDzone is the official AMD fanboys forum.
Few years ago I entered that trolls nest, and I mentioned an Intel CPU. Suddenly I got 10 trolls jumped on me like I have killed all their family. They said that I'm working for Intel. I wish I was :D
So because he interfaces with the community and occasionally talks about some aspects of bulldozer (something we don't have much information about) means that he deserves to have his name attributed to something he didn't say in a fake article and possibly harm his career?
