Basically. #1 would be the highest pressure, but lowest flow. #4 would be highest flow, but lowest pressure. Then there are injector positions and core size to consider, etc. It is all about matching exactly the right plate to suit your loop.Quote:

if i remember right Cather did some tests with flow vs pressure and im pretty sure that pressure wins most (so long as u stay over a certain GPM) of the time because of the velocity and the turbulence created

Guess you can preorder now. Either way, block was not listed on the EK's website this morning.
What I am wondering (and there were also rumors) that the highflow inside plates would appear for old supreme, and now, I'm pretty stunned with whole new block...
Are those plates backwards compatible with supreme, and will they be sold separately?
Today is the 15 of december,hope you EK guys are ready to ship out this new HF block,really excited about this new design,im sure it will deliver.

So Eddy, what have u observed for temp drops with this block VS the EK Supreme? Also can we get some close up internals shots with the EK supreme next to it plx, just wondering how dramatic the re-design was for 100% more flow, thanks

Seeing those last 3 shots, I'm really curious as to the dips/dimples in the base plate between the fins. The thickness has negligible difference, are those there for turbulence or just a consequence of the machining process?

Exactly correct and the look is purely by accident. The blade that cuts the slots is curved, naturally, and instead of slicing each line in one cut, which would heat the copper needlessly and cause changes due to the heating (thickness changes in the raised/uncut portions), instead the block's plate moves slightly forward and the blade drops straight downward to make small, incremental cuts.Quote:
