No, thats not how I read it. Basically he is saying there are 3.2's and 3.25's available through vendors. The supply of pumps changed from Laing or the Laing distributor... product revisions happen and are a normal part of a product life cycle. The Koolance PMP-400 SKU did not change as a result of the revision.

Thats how I read it anyway... :shrug:

the ddc3.1 that burninator have.....has the same pcb as the ddc3.25...

based from other guys the pmp400 is a 3.25...i'm not quite sure yet...but skinnee's got a pmp400 to test out..

i also have pmp400s that i can test...

if you have a pmp400 that performs like a ddc3.1...you can say anything you want...

the email...is straight forward..they don't know their inventory much...

but my question to Kolance was :
Hi, i ordered two pmp-400 directly from your shop, my understanding that this pump is the newer Lang ddc 3.25 but after opening it the PCB says its an old 3.1 !!! even the wiring is just like a 3.1 not even like the newer ddc 3.2 whats going on ???

Between your 355 and PMP400, yes. . .this is true. . .but between the PMP400 and the pic the OP posted of his 350, no.

The only difference is the sticker and the impeller on the OP's, the pcb's are the same for all of the PMP-400's. I can swap impellers between the two, same size and the difference being the bottom piece of two molded pieces.

So we're left with stickers? :shrug:

does the pcb screen print of your pump match the one from my pic, my PCB reads DDC3.1-PWM? Does the wiring contacts match to? :confused:

Well, there hasn't been a whole lot of impeller flashing going on is this thread (with the exception of the OP), so I can't speak for that. :p: All I know is, if you have a blue impeller, it "should" be a 3.x. If it's multicolored (Blue and brown/red), it's supposed to be a 3.x5. :shrug: The way Laing screws around with the DDC line, I'm starting to think pressure testing (whether it be dead head or manometer) is the only definitive way to tell what pump you got.:rolleyes:

quattro_, what RPM does your pump run at? If it's 4300+ at 12V, you're fine :)

DDC3.1 RPM is ~3750RPM at 12V (if memory serves me right).
DDC3.2 RPM is ~4350RPM at 12V and ~4500RPM at 12.4V.

My guess is that DDC3.x5 RPM numbers are very similar ;)

all my laing ddc3.25 have blue impellers :D

Not if they decide to drop 1 of the "supposedly current" impellers. ;) Like I said, Laing loves to screw with the DDC line for some reason. Who knows, they may start making a purple impeller for all DDC's just because they can. :ROTF:

thanks for the info ill have to check that later, i only tested both my pmp-400 once and i noticed that the pumps bottom gets much much hotter than mcp355 is that normal ?

Agreed, it's gonna be difficult for me to do it when my pumps show up because I really don't have an easy place to do it, but I'll figure something out. :D

who's measuring pressure? i wish i could :D......but i prefer flow results of a complete loop...pressure testing ummm are for nerds :D

i think i need to whip up my koolance extreme pressure drop setups again :D

if you're in the usa..i can swap my 355 18w vs your weak(ijoke) 350 :D .....for the reason of testing :D

What was the difference in flow rate between 3.2 and 3.25 for you with the KFK (Koolance Flow Killer) setup? Like 3%?

We need some more baseline answers about the differences between 3.2 and 3.25 (and 3.1/3.15). And hopefully specifics that any ol' Joe can observe/measure. Some examples:
1) Aside from color, are the impellers different?
2) What are the running RPMs with the stock top or with a mod top (it's important to note that above ~2.8GPM, the XSPC tops cause the impeller to knock against it and RPMs to drop, so a loop with just tubing is going to cause measurement issues because flowrate will be near the max possible).
3) Are there any other physical differences?
4) Does power draw noticeably differ? (yes, not everyone has a DMM....this is a bit of a last resort observation)

EDIT: this I can say with almost 100% certainty: the most important factor to DDC3.xx performance is going to end up being RPM. If you're at 4300+, your end loop performance will be imperceptibly close to 'ideal'

yeah rpm looks like something to look at...almost the same impellers...if the rpm change as flow..then...let the voltages increase..or i hope it(rpm) does increase as voltage is increased :D

OK, I have 1 350 coming from P-PCs (hopes it's the same as OP's) and a 3.25 from J-T, both should be here sometime early to mid next week. . .I want to see if I can figure deal this out. :up:

So in fact it means, that the MCP 350´s are not able to be modded to 355´s anymore right!?

What a mess. Just bought a 350 to mod it later. Well okay, so I don´t need to screw down the speed anymore :D
It was just for fun, to power up, if wanted. Most of the time my Pumps ran at 70%.

Just to put my 2 cents in better later than later, I ordered an MCP 350 from performance PC hoping for a solder mod and I have exactly the same version as burninator. Same pcb, so no mod for me. 3800rpm according to my motherboard and the pure blue impeller. Ahh well c'est la vie as they say in Finland ;-)

I guess I'll have to stick with the mcp-350 unless Honda wants to work out something with me too..... :)

...Damn, same here i got the MCP 350 like the OP did, and its just to bad it can't be modded. well, time to buy another 350 and run them together with a dual top.
