When will they release these? Mid November?
Will the 5770 still only require 1 pci-e power connector and have the same length as the 5750 shown? Only asking as I have a mini-itx gaming system and if the 5770 specs are the 1120SPs, 56TMUs and 128bit memory interface with GDDR5 it will be one of my next upgrades. I have a 512MB 4850 right now, but I want something that has some more power, puts out less heat and is not as long as the 4850. The 5750 doesn't seem like I would upgrade to it. I can only think of two reasons and that is heat and size, but I want some more performance.
Not sure about you guys, but over where i'm at in asia, the distro says we'll have some big news about the 57xx in < 2 weeks.
All cards in those benches are working at x8 PCI-e. Probably doesn´t make a difference but just i wanted to point that out.
Simon Vivera, the AMD Product Marketing Manager, will give a briefing call to vendors and major retailers in Wednesday. From what I heard, the global NDA on Juniper is lifted on the 13th. So I think that we will see a launch not a long after that....;)
Regarding performance, it is hinted that both cards will come to retail mainly in 1GB GDDR5 versions, and @150 and 200 MSRP prices. Both cards are based on the Juniper die, with 5750 being a harvested version.
If 5770 delivers equal perf to 4890, it will be a killer...I am looking forward to it, thats the price point Im aiming for...:)
Wow, those have very good looks to the value segment. Juniper is beefier than what I thought then, so even the harvested 5750 version looks good (it should have a performance similar to HD4850, with lower power consumption and DX11 support), if the 5870 performs around HD4890 is going to be great. Oh, and 2x 5770 have the same price than a single 5870. If Lucid Hydra works well in the end, with all the hype about scalability and shared rendering being true, having a motherboard with that chip buying 2 or 3 of these could be a very good price/performance option...
Oh boy, I feel like getting one of these just for benchmarking. Hopefully Voltmods + some DI = :D:D:D
:)
Umm... What do you mean by "package"?
The grey rectangle is the silicon die (backside of it), there's no "package" the die would be buried in, except maybe a coat of chemically protective lacquer.
And it's roughly 12mm×15mm -> ~180mm˛, likely a few mm˛ more.

You can still get PhysX with third patches released by GenL @ NGOHQ.

Thanks, I'll give it a look...^^
I don't see why you would need 2x dual-link DVI ports... can't you just get a DVI splitter?
I'm not sure which type of connection is being used on an HD 3450 at work but it is able to split a single DVI interface on the card to two DVI monitors for an extended (not cloned) desktop. Is there is less functionality doing this instead of two DVI connections on the card?
matrox double or triple head2go
Does anybody know how the 57xx will compare to a 8800GT in terms of Power usage and board size?
