I picked up a 2nd from Newegg and it performs identically to the 1st. Max O/C is still 3.26 Ghz rock solid @ 1.45V. Even a 100mhz bump will bring BSOD. Oh well, $65.00 for a 3.2ghz Phenom II x4 is still a great deal:D.

When did you order this second one? Also, are you using stock cooling or a different one?
I'm using a Cooler Master HyperTX2 on my BSEL'd E2200 right now, so I'm just going to take that off and use it on the Athlon 5000+.
update: :banana::banana::banana: I just realized I don't know for sure where I left the piece that allows my HyperTX2 to attach to AMD sockets. I went ahead and purchased a Freezer 7 Pro...hopefully that $30 was worth it because I just brought my total cost to like $200...
Last year in December i bought one from a local store, but i have no idea if it unlocks since i don't have a motherboard to test it on (the guys at the store told me it was returned, probably because it wouldn't unlock, can't confirm that though).
Anyway, here it is. As far as i searched.. there's only about a 30% chance that this series unlocks.
I'm planning on testing it on either a ASRock A790GMH/128M or a Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H.. having a hard time choosing though, either the benefits of the 790 chipset or the benefits of UD tech. from Gigabyte (crossing out the IGP and other functions such as CF, RAID etc. i'm still in a bit of a bind here and don't quite know which chipset between the 2 provides better performance, boardwise the Gigabyte is better, but chipset wise..)
I took out the S/N from the pic.
AD5000ODJ22GI, CACVC AC 0937 EPDW
Anyone know anything about this particular CPU ? it's a Deneb alright.. but will it unlock ? (i know it blends :D)
I'll come back with further info if i get any.
P.S.: I hope the image doesn't show in the post as huge as it does in the "preview-post".
I ordered the second one on 01-06-10 from Newegg. Using Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus to keep it @ 45c running a VM for F@H.
meh, price went up $5

SuperBiiz has a coupon code for 10% off. Wow, $49.50usd for a quad core Phenom II when using the correct mobo. This is crazy. Kinda upsets me that I bought 2 @ Newegg for 65.00.

Newegg is out and appears to have discontinued the item. Get em' while you can.
Well I got my Freezer 7 Pro...cpu and mobo arrive monday, still keeping my fingers crossed
I just noticed that it's probably a good sign that newegg ran out...well it is for me, since you (buck nasty) ordered your 2nd one on the 6th. I ordered one less than a week after you and now they ran out, meaning we both probably ordered from some same last batch they received. I have heard of at least a couple people that have not been able to unlock...
Hopefully that doesn't happen to me! For now, I must slumber...the cpu will arrive tomorrow.
Update: damn! it didn't get delivered today because my front desk wasn't open to accept mail today...
Just to check, since I haven't actually had to actually overclock for some time now (my current system uses a pin mod), the unlock simply consists of the ACC core unlock, and then raising the vcore and fsb to increase the cpu clock speed, correct?
For my case
I just enable ACC and it unlocks into Phenom FX-5000 Quad Core :)
in hong kong this cpu is readly available, about 90% are unlockable, I do know of two of them, with certain serial number not unlockable ( i will try to dig out the info), and not all motherboard with acc function are able to unlock the features,
just checking, but will I have any issues overclocking because of my RAM?
I'm using 2 sticks of 1GB HP DDR2 667mhz (those sticks they were selling for $3 each 2 years ago) and 1 stick of 2GB Corsair Dominator 1066mhz.
I'd stick with the 2gb stick of Corsair as far as the overclock is concerned. Just enable ACC(auto), drop the HT and ram multi, and raise the FSB. When it gets unstable, add a little more voltage. Watch your ram speed via CPU-Z to keep it in check. On a low end chipset, you will prob only get 3.0-3.2ghz.
Hopefully the Gigabyte US2H isn't a low end chipset (AMD 785G/SB710).
So I can't use all 3 sticks of ram then?
Windows 7 x64
Someone told me that the HP ram would easily hit 400mhz if vdimm was raised to 2.0...I'm not sure what that means exactly, but does that relate to the FSB of the motherboard?
So, DDR2 is quad pumped...so was he telling me that the HP ram would be able to handle an FSB of 400mhz? For an OC of 3.2 ghz I would only need an fsb of 290mhz, correct?
So, am I okay to use 1 stick of 2GB 1066 and 2 sticks of 1 GB 667? I knew that all the ram clocks get dropped to 667. That doesn't really bother me.
Does, however, me having ram running at 667mhz affect my ability to raise fsb in overclocking the CPU (and if so how does it affect?)?
