the infinity B is able to hit 250fsb?
the infinity B is able to hit 250fsb?
yeah Iolao . What board ? LanParty or Infinity ? :)
I'm running an Infinity board
can you tell us how close to stock it is? and what voltages are required for this 250fsb?
My Infinity quite suxx
Either I am setting it up wrong or it pos :(
Reboot, boot-up probs and sometimes it accepts my setting sometimes it beeping loudly to me  :brick:
P.S. Seems I cannot get high cpu clocks as well...
Yup i have all of the above probs as well! Its a POS!!!!!!!!!!
First time i freakin saved some setting in the bios and it barked at me and wouldnt boot for nothing till i reset the damn CMOS jumper. WOnt do anything higher then 200FSB i think hehe. I even tried 210 with a low mult of 10 and 9.5 and NOT! memtest 5 says hells no bub i suck.
Its going back.. Only tested it for about an hour.. I even used Optimal settings for the ram and same crap.. The voltages are all low and i even have the Antec True Control 550 with the pots all maxed and all the voltages bedies the 3.3+ line are about dead on.. The 3.3 was at 3.26v.
The mosfets are all super tiny and the damn monting holes around the CPU socket all just about imposable to use but somehow i did it.. I spent way too much time setting this thing up and i even Lapped the SB perfectly and used the NB NS on the SB chip w/AS 5..
i had some extreme watercooling runing on both the CPU and NB..
Sucks cause other then that the board is kickass and looks great! The extras ya get with the Lanparty Ultra NF2 B baord are well worth the extra 50 bucks!
Really really disapointing bigtime.. i mean damn first the AN7 and now this thing.. wow.
I think i might be runing off to AMD 64 land with a VIA chipset! :) hehe.. I cant stand this damn NF2 chiset.. I havent goten along with it since it came out! Nothing but testing this and that, playing with new boards every other week and moding left and right and after all of this i never got to have any fun runing a fast system like i always had.
If my NF7-S board (That is sittin here next to me boxed up and ready to be shipped back to abit) is still fine and stabel at 227 after a new install of windows, i'll just keep that.
If not i'll have 3 Unlocked AQEXA 0331 UNLOCKED chips brand new for sale... I only tested one that will do over 2400Mhz at 1.9v. Hgihest i got with it was at 2700Mhz at 2.03v.. didnt try a lower voltage though.. Would of been sweet to play with forsure..
My feelings, exactly... :mad:Quote:

reboots at 11x230 under stress, no win boot, on-and-off-switching devices before post (or non-post :( ), new bios does not help a bit... thought I can give dfi a chance but another dissappointing NEW!!! (INFINITY - mad(e) for overclockers) NF2 board for me :explode:
Edit: I also own the tc 550w and it has perfectly stable lines. Furthermore it's modded to up the 3.3V+ and 5V+ (useless)... but even at 2,6V ram voltage it jumping from 2,63 to 2,60 even though I always use 3,7V at 3.3V+
heh ya did better then me.. My ssytem wouldnt even boot at 230FSB.. hell the first setting i tried was 11x220 and thats when it did all that screaming. And i'm using Mushkin 3500 Level 2 512MBx2 BH-5. :9 hehe.. crazy.
Yo guys,
I can fully understand where u coming from but surely you both need to give the boards at least a few days till they break in.
Almost every system i have setup has worked alot better after a week of running at normal specs. Ofcourse its down to you if you gonna give the boards a little time.
:smileysex
I think all our expectations are so high because of the success many of us have had with the NF7's. I was contemplating on selling mine (max sandra bench 3900) but i think i will hang on too it a little longer seeing whats happening with all you other peeps.
I do hope u give those boards a few days at least. I wish u guys some success, its almost Christmas so u should get it ;)
Gluck

I only feel this board is hard with ram; go check as many ram sticks as you have because it seems to like some and dislike others. As for booting new settings I keep having the same issues as you all but I solve that by only changing multiplier in bios and posting at low fsb (220), then use clockgen and all works. It seems to me best chipset are exclusively for lanparty model while those binned out are reserved to infinity boards.
Hell i did give it another chance.. A hole another 16 boots i think hehe. Its out of the case! Packed back up and ready to be shipped.. If the board wont reboot after i make any change in the bios its a bogus board.
With one stick i was able to run 230FSB but hat was only in Memtest sicne my drives werent working for some reason.. DIdnt matter what setting i set it would not post after the save and i would have to hold the Insert key while powering on just to get the board to post again...
hell and i thought the NF7-S v2.0 gave me probs heheh.. not.. It took something like this board to show me how good i had it with the NF7.
I never heard of a board needing a break in period anyways.. only a CPU and memroy.. If it wont do it the first day its not gona..especially with all those voltage selections.
This may be a silly point  , but I had issues with BIOS keeping settings etc...on a few boards before . The CMOS battery was nearly dead . Replacing the battery cleared it all up . Just a thought :)
Naw the date and all the setting were there when i did finally reboot using the insert key just the CPU and FSB settings were cleared.Quote:

Hmmmmm, no real problems with my Infinity...
Ran 3DMarks01 last night at 11x225 with a locked Barton and scored 20,287 and 6,371 in 3Dmark03.
It would boot and run windows at 230x11 but could not finish 3DMarks.
So are these boards crap? The Infinity and the Lanparty?
No. They 're definately NO crap. Nice looking, nice features and a very well done bios... But for me it sucks cause sometimes it boots and sometimes it does not...
I yesterday changed out my bh-5 to the ch-5 of my friend redskin (did 230 2,0-2-2-11 at 3V on nf7-s) and could do a 3dmark2k1 with 9,5x245 2,0-2-2-11-13-15 etc. pp. Nice, I thought... but next reboot I did not come up again... beeeeep... beeeeep...
Too bad the 3,30V and 3,20V ram voltage settings are also causing such beeps... but as I already mentioned, sometimes it worx.
Maybe new bios will fix it??? Somebody knows if we could use the new lanparty beta bios for it too - read there would be changes in dram compatibility for ram/fsb ocing?!?
I think it's impossible, isn't it?
BTW the vcore set to 2,0V is not booting into win at high vdimm too. Bad voltage regulation??? NF7 probs ;) ?
I'm not experiencing the same voltage problems you got, however this boards really HATES my ch5 modules, it seems they produce random errors and above all are the responsibles of the black screens after reboots or bios changes. Everything seems fine with only a stick of BH5, I'm waiting for another one to start serious testing. Low rails do actually seem to be simply misread by software, as checking with DMM gave me steady and high values. There's definitely something to improve in ram compatibility in the next bios release.Quote:

Yes. Better bios is needed... But look at the beta bios site for the lanparty version! There's a beta promising improved ram oc capabilities... That's what I meant and "maybe" (indeed!) wanted to use.Quote:

But I do not exactly know if the bios for the infinity/lanparty is like those for nf7 and -s version - the same, except the modules not necessary for non-sata one ain't flashed/used... Anyone knows  ?
Here's a link for the new oc bios for the lanparty rev a+...
here!
Lemme know if it works (the link/maybe the bios) :)
Beware! It's beta status. But I never killed a board using a beta ;)
Be really aware that bios is for lanparty ver. A which is TOTALLY different from rev.B.... As for newer bioses even the lanparty ver.B is stuck at 10/15/2003 bios, so ram compatibility is the same in both the boards (infinity and lanparty B).
So... Infinity "B" is a good or bad mobo !?
I say forget about the board and look into something else.. either a Abit NF7-S v2.0 or a An7... AN7 was a better board then this.Quote:

@Iolao
This bios is for rev a+ what means it sor rev a+ and higher...
Just to clarify this :)
@NoOne
Newer NF7 boards all were crap compared to the ones around 309/311 NB...
AN7 is out of selection for me till they get it to scream in oc...
The Lanparty is the ONLY revision B here. The infinity is only available in rev a+!!!
I like my Infinity... It does seem to have a problem Priming... could this be caused by the DDR instablities that I read about somewhere?
The fastest I can run 3Dmark01 with my locked 2500+ is 11x225, 11-2-2-2 scored alittle over 20K. Thats dual channel, CPU enabled.
But this is OK, cause I was stuck at 215FSB with my Soltek with no vmods.
Yes. Stable 3dmarking is influenced badly by dram stability prob with the 2 dfi's...
I can 3dmark up to 236 but mostly with 10 or 9,5 multiplier... 10,5 or 11 sometimes suck. And I wanna use 11,5 since I have a prom and I am crouching around at 2300 to 2500MHz
Already 3dmarked at 245x9,5 2,0-2-2-11-13-15-enabled-enabled-fast and got a really good score - ram is much faster on the dfi's than on my abit boards - ( nearly 21k I think) but after that I was once again not able to boot up :( ...beeep ...beeep ...beeep
I really wanna know if I can flash this beta for lanparty a+ (means rev. b) into my infinity. Already emailed dfi_usa about that prob but I doubt they will answer. DFI Taiwan state at their support site they won't reply to mails according to ocing...
How come they advertise those boards with their ocing features/abilities
