I think you should have a diamond shape.... Makes you think crystal clear when you see something diamond shaped. :)

Simple renderings....i LOIKE~
Anyways I do think you're heading in the right direction already.
Love what you have done with the V1K.
But I do think the space constraint is limiting your creativity
I actually find this design better looking then I could get a diamond design in my head.
Maybe if I use some dead bubble-cathodes and backlight it in a soft white, it will look more like something Crystal.
Maybe the drink.
You are correct, but I think it'd be a tad to easy fitting the things in to a larger case, there by taking some of the fun out of it.
I'm a big fan of compact builds, I love the V600 and A05 LC-builds.
In other news I'm still waiting for the EK LT and the rest of the EK motherboard blocks to be nickel plated and shipped.
Also, I just ordered a Feser X-changer 240 to get this thing up to speed again!
Thanks!
What is it with these guys?! They pointed me to this thread and the build is not finished :D
Please let me know when it's done :)
I'd love to continue, but I'm still waiting for the 240 Feser-rad which should arrive tomorrow.
Also the water blocks are done and have been shipped, expecting them next week sometime.
Would love to release some renders too, but I have nothing to model but my Antec 300.
Laine, I really like those shots you took - very dramatic!
The crystal clear faceplate concept is very interesting... my only issue being that I find the jagged peaks a bit too "edgy" for the smooth logotype. Perhaps reducing the sharp edginess a bit... what about flipping the design 180 degrees...
Just thoughts - looking forward to your next update Mate. :)
Thanks!
Yes, you're right. I'll get back to the drawing board sometime soon.
I don't know about flipping it, I'm thinking a total do-over is in order.
I actually don't know when the next update will take place, it looks like the Swedish postal service screwed up (nothing new there..) and set me back a few days. :shakes:
Time to go postal on the postal service!
Cheers.
Nice! Very nice I must say!
Cant wait for a update!
Lycka till!
Tack!
Did some more brainstorming on the faceplate, not too shure about the result though.
The renders are showing more of the rad placement then the faceplate, but I can't do any more now, my computer hates me enough already.

Hopefully there will be a real update tomorrow, I really need to get som sleep now. :shakes:
that looks great laine  I would say make the thin metal in between the two colors a bit thicker though, you want to keep width to about twice the thickness of the material for a line that spans a distance that large (not huge but you don't want it to bend easily)
Yeh unless you're getting it water jet cut, you are better off making that line a bit thicker.
I just did a google picture search for 'crystal clear' and the first 10 pages showed nothing but tropical waters in aquamarine colors.
Maybe the diamond image would be better, but I think it would be hard to incorporate something that implied tropical water' to the viewer. I'm guessing that as long as you went with some blue colors behind the face plate that the image doesn't really matter as long as the colors were there.
In the render the cutting is 1mm thick, in real life it will be as thick as the faceplate, 2mm.
I did this because the design was barely visible with 2mm depth. :shakes:
I could try to increase the width though, still it's only 50mm of hight at the most.
It's actually going to be water jet'd, funny you should ask. :D
Yeah I'm not shure about the design, it doesn't speak to me either.
An iceberg was the most crystal clear motive I could get my hands on though.
Small update of the actual build, got the first package today, took me a good 5 minutes to get it out of the mailbox, the mailman must have bent the laws of physics.
Now for the classic XS-shots:

There are some more bits and pieces but nothing worth to mention.
Awesome and inspiring work.
Keep it up !
By the way, what Renderapp do you use ?
Thanks!
I use the built in rendering function in AutoCad.
Here are some more interesting pics.

The Feser is really hard to capture with the camera, don't know why but it turns out wierd.
Also I'm thinking of using sleeved tubing in the lower compartment.
Would love to make this a proper, large update but I'm still waiting for the other package, gone like two weeks now and I really hope it'll turn up monday.
As you can see the Feser 120 is missing, and I'll order one soon if I ever get around to doing it, haha.
Really nice build, Laine.. love the renders. I have a cheaper version (TurboCAD) and am wondering if it can put out stuff like that. I'm just learning it.
How long did it take you to become that skilled with it?
AutoCad is really basic and therefore very easy.
I had a some what clue of what I was doing in 2D, so learning how to make it into 3D models took no more then an evening.
After that, you learn how to make things easier and better looking by just using it.
I haven't used it at all much to be honest, I'm still discovering new features daily, so I'm hardly an expert talking.
It can be a bit tricky at first if you're just reading instructions or trying to learn it by yourself, with a teacher or an somewhat experienced user you will learn the basics in a heartbeat.
This is about AutoCad, I haven't used Turbocad at all so I have no clue about that program, but I'd be suprised it's much different.
A tip would be to skip AutoCad entirely and go directly for Inventor as it is a lot better and you'll like to learn it eventually anyways.
I hope this helps you in some way.
Being bored, I fooled around in Photoshop a bit and got a Feser 120 in the front of it.
This might give you a better view of what's comming.

Excellent build and shots!!!
Laine, I'm really enjoying your offerings Mate - keep up the great work! :)
Looks good keep up the work
Now Laine's got me wondering just how many of these beautiful computers we see here actually exist ????
Great renders ... looks like a lot of fun.
Thanks all!
Well, there's the Lian Li, the white budget case you see in my avatar and then I have an Antec 300 that I'll fix up after the Lian.
Small update, got the blocks but still waiting for the rad grill.

These are the blocks I got nickel plated, nicely done by ChilledPC.
Now I'm just looking for a 780i Mosfet as they are no longer produced or sold anywhere. :shakes:
Did some blocks and fittings in AutoCad so I'll throw it in here as well.

Cheers!
Looking good man, did you ever decide on a logo? I know you had multiple ideas.
