they always did work......people getting rejected becasue they are unstable and it causes a clock discrepancy that appears to look like a cheat......etc rejected.....Still no clue why rejected is allowed on the bot........

Heh this was more of an experiment.....consider it research if you will.
Wasn't willing to chance our good chip in the MSI quite yet ;)
We ran into condensation issues on gigabyte shortly after that 6.5g valid.....the board was benched on 30L of LN2 prior to that.....must not have defrosted everything well enough when I did a cpu swap......so I pulled the plug. Did not feel like wasting ln2 or killing the good chip......better luck next time.
Excellent results
I gotta have some more Deneb fun myself :)
Well then something isn't stable bud ;)...There are ways to avoid it.
It happens for this reason and this reason only.........clock fluctuation which is triggered by instability.........you are at say 5222 mhz but with clock fluctuation you f7 and you core speed is bouncing around to say 5244..... this will get rejected.....seems the max allowable is a 20 mhz fluctuation ......fluctuation is due to instability........
Massman this ones for you...............
Less interesting but still a WR I'll save the other one for the single core validation guys
This is my latest and fastest RETAIL all core validation to date.

Just testing the waters....I needed a couple tri fire results for a future comparison. This is my bad chip. Wanted to get a feel for the asus and make sure it wouldn't nuke my 6.1 3d chip.

Bios works well, major cpu bottleneck however.

We just realized this would Be # 8 in the TOP 20 overall on the bot ;) did not submit to future mark.....can't wait to toss the good chip at this. :D

chew, can you tell sth about batch ?
if it's retail maybe there's possibility to get similar cpu :D
ofc it's not a secret :)
Early week pre release retail but its still a dud to my standards......
Honestly its luck of the draw, I have run through quite a few chips....problem is you need a well balanced chip for 3d.....the worst core will always be the limiting factor. We have one chip that has insane NB ( IIRC we can get 4700 out of it on gigabyte ) but the cores are weak...
My good 3d chip has great cores and a cruddy NB.........about 3800-3900 max for 3d benching. I'm guessing based on the max I can valid that 6.2 may be pushing it for 3d.....we have already benched 6.1 solid on it however...It also requires quite a bit of volts.....Most chips I have used do not.
I will say its far from a cherry as the rumours would say though.....I need 1.85v for 3d......
Seems the nice chip I used in austin was preferable to 1.725....Big diff IMO ;)
I'll bet money there are better out there in retail channels right now I would venture a guess to look for week 0911 and newer....
These were sacrifices to the OC gods, may my next sessions prosper well....
RIP little guy....as you see it was not from operator error, the core is not crushed.........

The board sacrificed to accomodate it.......once cpu is in socket its cavitated. Pita to unlock the socket....... Board reserved for a future naked attempt.....

This may have been the casue of my 955 not cooperating, when I tore down the board to swap the CPU it was frozen to my mobo mounting plate and I sort of pried it off......looks like I left a peice of a trace on my backplate mount.........

And it appears I posted as MSI max again :ROTF:
Nah he logged in from my pc while he was here, I forgot to log him out ;)
Congrats, nice numbers!
poor chipy wipy :( atleast he died for the cause!!!
wont it be dangerous to suspend the mobo on top of a empty box? i mean with the weight of the mobo + cards and the gulp! LN2
no mobo boxes are REALLY STURDY
Nice screens and scores.... But 5.7-5.8ghz with a 955 in 3dmark2006 sounds abit low?, what did it do on air?
Read above posts.......this was mere research.
We did not trust either of the boards so purposely used duds......no sense in killing good chips just to get the feel for a board cold........
What does it matter what it did on air?
You think that air results of any chip are an indicator of what a chip will do on ln2?
I think if you take that approach you will be wasting alot of ln2 for nothing........
I figured you and msimax would be curled up in a corner by now sound asleep!:D
