And? Any results? Better overclockability?
Dunno.. I'll know as soon as I try it. :D Need money tough.. (don't have proper soldering iron.. ).
OK, managed to pull this mod.
This SMD resistor is so small !
BTW its resistance is 100 Ohm and not 1K Ohm !
After the mod I could easily even go to 130 Mhz with PCI-E, too bad that after 120Mhz the Sata controller freaks out and my HDD was not recognized.
So 120Mhz is somehow the safe/sane limit.
In terms of bclk, it seems that on H20, i could pull up to 231Mhz (with 12multy), even ran a SuperPi 1M ran.
I could boot at 228Bclk from BIOS, very nice :D
I hope on cold it will get even better.
Here is a screenshot from Windows with 120Mhz PCI-E and 225.5Mhz bClk (afaik it was 226Mhz bClk from BIOS).
http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/512...e120mhz.th.png
I can hit 226 bclk with 103, if I can't get anymore with over that, I'll be highly disappointed. I think I'm going to wait and see if they make it available with a new bios for now.
You need to set the PCI-E to 103.4 on Windows using setFSB, then you will be able to hit 229.1Mhz bclk, though beyond 227Mhz it's not really stable.
on 229 the only things I could run were Spi1M and Pifast.
Aside from that, don't get your hopes high on a new BIOS that will fix it, its a hardware limit that can only be resolved using the hard mod.
BTW, I found that setting CPU latency to 100 and CPU Drive strength to 25 gave me to go from 229->231 bClk so you might want to try it out.
It seems that setting the Drive Strength above 25 and the system would fail to POST, 10 would fail to POST too. so 20-25 was the area of good values, where 25 seems to be the best.
what max bclk may i get with default pci.e 100?
i can boot at 220, with low cpu and mem multiplies, but get error on linpack after 10 mins
also what voltages on mobo i have to set for bclk >200? say, ioh 1.3 or smth else
With 100Mhz of PCI-E you would be stuck at the 222~ bClk Wall.
If you set the IOH to 1.3v-1.26v and IOH PCI-E voltage to 1.7v, you should hit about 223-224 Afaik in the best case scenario.
Even 115 PCIe can kill HDD.. (in long term use).. not sure I want to try it just to get like 5MHz BCLK.. :(
For the guys who are still trying to figure how high the bClk can go with this mod:
How's that for bClk ?

More details here, with some hardcore 2D benches and pics from the run.
So you did hardmode the board? Very nice ;) Post some settings
Temptation was too high, what can I do ?

I hope this helps
i sell my bloodrage for evga classified but now i want to go back to bloodrage. BR is far better in memory overclocking.
thanks to saaya & the quantum force team for that :)
I think a I deserve a little thanks too, for showing what this little devilish board can do :D J/K
Its just that everybody lost faith in it and got EVGA instead, bei fei , DJsub and there are probably more ppl.
As in everything in Life, in order to success, a combination of elements need to work to their best.
The Engineers who made this Board, the guy who came up with the MOD, and of course the overclocker ;).
Now, if the ppl at Foxconn/QF can just bring on some newer BIOS and improved support it will be an excellent board.
P.S.
Is the Classy for sail ? :D
Well, some of us know how great those mobos are.. thats why I have two of them. :D I kinda tought about getting myself Classified, but I felt guilty that I would cheat my BR.. so I stayed with it. :)
Hopefully going to make that mod soon too.. wish I could get some cheap L2N/DICE pot..
But really, impressive results for GTi version..
I'm gonna buy a new one, definitely :D this rocks
And what about dice/ln2 on NB :)
I think LN2/DICE on the NB has been tried and proved to gain nothing.
And It should gain you nothing as there is nothing significant on the NB, it is just a 32 lanes PCI-E HUB with a DMI interface to the SB.
I think BZ got a little higher bclk with ln2
this is my last bench with unmodded BR b4 going to classified.

IMHO BR is far better in memory overclocking than classified in 2:10
i couldnt get that memclock to work on classified whatever voltage i put on classified.
i don't have money to buy expensive memory. that's why memory overclocking is very important to me :)
