Since I use the Alphacool top with the rubber bushings in the sides the feet are not necessary, so the new model would be fine.

Looks like there is no performance gains and reason for upgrade if using old DDC-2 pump with good top, old, but very good stuff if its not dead :yepp: My DDC-2 is still strong and silent from year 2007. BTW its Delphi rebranded or something like that and manufactured in 10th of november 2005.
But DDC-3.2 owners, they maybe need to get one of these better performing models especially on high restrictive systems.
Yes, I also have one of those tops and know what you mean.
However, as with all DDC-2 tops back in the day, they have the small protrusion on the suction side inside the chamber to keep the impeller aligned which will not fit the smaller diameter impellers of the 3.2 or 3.25.
People with alphacool tops are way in the minority, so I wonder why they did not choose the feet? Dean?
You may not know this, but Delphi and Laing co-developed this series of pumps specifically for water-cooling systems for computers.
Also, the first "D" in DDC stands for Delphi-----as in Delphi DC (direct current) pump.
So, Delphi's marking on the DDC pump is not a rebranding but from the co-developer of the pump. I'd think in countries other than the U.S., you'd actually find Delphi DC pumps labeled as such since Laing is the U.S. distributor of the DDC while, from what I've been able to gather, Delphi is free to distribute/sell in other countries.
Here is a link to my old post about the E5. This pump is labeled as a 39 watt pump but draws closer to 26 watts in real life scenarios. I would guess the 27 & 39 watt ratings are start-up wattage draws.
See this link for detailed pics of this pump. Click Me!
p.s. I just looked at these pics and the pumps we stock now are 39 watter's not 50 watts like this one. In fact the 26 watts I read on my ammeter was from the old pump. So the ones we have now should use even less power. I will have to check that next week on a service call. I did notice on one I replaced on Thursday that it seemed quieter which makes sense if it is drawing less power and likely spinning slower.
Figures right after I upgrade from a MCP655-B to the 3.2+top this shows up.
Oh well, you can't expect stuff to never progress now can you. :D
Oh Gabe......PLEEEAAASSSSEE?
But it is the only one that allows me to use rubber isolation bushings to mount them in MM 3.5" drive brackets mounted to 120mm fans. Two birds with one stone, great mounting along with constant airflow across the pumps.

Ohhhh Edy, it sure would be nice to have some EK rev2 tops with tapped holes for the same mounting method....Hint, Hint. :D
I know SiG, that was one of the reasons I got it but...alas, QC seemed to be off the day mine was made.:shakes: It chipped out right where the screw thread comes close to the hole for the outlet.

It fried 1 pump and shorted a second to about half power before I found the problem. The second pump has since succumbed from it's wounds. Both pumps were DDC-2's. I recently thought I'd found a fix for the top by sticking a short section of O-ring Buna from a repair kit I have up the threaded hole and let the screw squish it thereby sealing it. It worked well enough for the video I made comparing the DDC-2 to a DDC 3.2 but I found a few drops of water in the lower chamber of the 3.2 when I was done so that top is now officially permanently out of service.
Oh man that's nasty...
I have Alphacool tops on both my DDC's and they do have wider space between the thread and the outlet. I have to agree with SiG, these tops are just perfect for ppl with MM cases, like me. Personally i wouldn't change them for anything...
BTW it looks like Laing will bring back a pump that we'll be worth changing prior to the death of my DDC-2's... :)
no offense meant but i always thought that they(koolance) were just somehow trying to imply that their re-branded laing 3.2 pumps were better than the other re-branded 3.2(MCP/DDC), since that is a common tactic used among re-branded products.
Very glad to know that they weren't playing that game, hopefully we can get a side by side comparison soon so the prospective gains can be seen.
Does anybody know the distance between the two holes?
The new revisions of the 3G and Absolute have a slotted top that will probably match those holes.
I will probably have to get one so I can see it for myself.
I just got some more in, so they're available on our website.
Center to center is 64mm, hole diameter is 4mm.
