Hey Fugger! How are you running 4-way crossfire on Windows XP?? I thought that was impossible??

Hey Fugger! How are you running 4-way crossfire on Windows XP?? I thought that was impossible??
 Great record. How about Quad SLI GTX 295 or tri SLI GTX 285?
What type of memory did u use to get the record?
Should I wait for i920 D0 stepping before I take the plunge?
Very sweet indeed. Keep up the good work guys!
I knew it was a matter of time until these badboys were unleashed.
very nice done, nice WR aswell.
Corsair Dominator 1866C8 wth pelt @ 2200Mhz cas 8
I totally agree with dinos22! :yepp:
1000 thanks to FUGGER and Mikeguava to share with us the big results and the power of i7 975 D0 :), but at the end imho this could not be considered as new WR. This is not a retail CPU and a lot of other guys that are good overclockers all over the world are out of this competition because of possibility to have one of this CPU sample.
I think it's time to establish some rules about this, for example that all WRs are possible only with retail component (that all people can buy and own) or something like this, otherwise the competition could no be so truthful.
Sorry guys but I have to say what I am thinking about this. :)
World records simply means the highest or lowest of something. It doesn't necessarily need to take everyone into account for qualifications. That's like saying Mr. Speedy Gonzales can't hold the world record for fastest lap because the guys in a wheelchair are not qualified to run.
Fugger, contrats
damn that looks tasty
Did you ever see a athletic race for a WR were a man challenge with Ferrari F1? :)
I think the aim of competition is to challenge with everybody with equal hardware. If you alone (or with other 3-4 guys all over the world) have a new sample CPU (more powerful then previous CPUs) this is a challenge between 3 o 4 people and is quite normal to obtain some WRs compared to old technology.
In cartoons with Mr. Speedy Gonzales everything is possible, if you think we are in a cartoon I totally agree with you. :) (sorry for my not so good humor :D).
...at the end is just my thoughts! :)
Sorry for OT, and thanks a lot to share this new technology. :)
WOW! This is amazing! Great work guys.
I read this at tcmagazine:
Can someone verify this? If true, this means launch is planned for June-July?Quote:
Reported being planned for a late Q2 or early Q3 release, the Core i7 975 EE will likely be priced at $999
as far as this link goes the D0 stepping will have no changes to the current C0 i7's http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?op...11773&Itemid=1
Auch, beat the P2 with alot and thats with 1ghz less... :p:
Well done Fugger
Can u confirm that the new stepping will work at those temps or u got a cherry picked cpu?
Got a cascade that idles at -110 and i really dont wanna buy a 965 that is cold bugged at -50.
Well Done
Extreme overclock respect
Nice!
What in the world?! How you get these things?
Was a fun run with the Core I7 975. Crazy chip. The most impressive to me was our first boot at 0.975V and 4.6GHZ @ ~ 10C into Windows.
Not sure if we will see a clock for clock improvement from C0 to D0 in terms of efficiency, like it was from B0 to C0.
There is definetly more room in that CPU - Charles made sure to keep clocks within the same range of other top benching Core I7s. I have a C0 at the moment that can match the clocks we benched at. Kingpins C0 ran his a tiny bit higher.
@ Eva - we didn't run Windows 7 this time - but next run with C0 will be Win7
@ Sampsa - nice tease on the AM3 - that looks very promising especially for GT1 - any improvement there? BTW I heard a rumor that Team Finnland owns a CPU that can match these D0 clocks - doubt it will take to June to see the backups.
I agree with Dyno too, Let's get both invalidated records ...

AMD at the extreme system party was using "AMD Engineering Sample", nobody complained then, but it is samples too ...
what do you think?
Just kidding :-P

Well done guys.... That's one amazing score. Looking forward to see what else you guys come up with.
Congrats. Great stuff.
I enjoy seeing WRs and the like, it's always cool seeing what kind of numbers that can be cranked out of these machines, but this is getting old. Its already bad enough with the access to hardware that the majority of the WR benchers have, but now to start using unreleased hardware, ESs, and then, worst of all, to go ahead and show unsportsmanlike like behavior about it? It would appear that both teams have or may have used questionable methods to obtain these benches, so in all fairness neither run really counts. Everyone expects F1 cars to be fast as hell, just as this type of hardware is expected to be fast as hell, so it is really no surprise when you see records come out of this hardware, it means relatively little to the average overclocker, what matters is what can be done with the chips that we can buy.
F1 teams dont typically advertise their cars as production models, so why should intel/amd be able to claim a WR with a non production item? It dosnt have to be a closed competition, but it would seem most like to keep it that way.
It matters because it shows us what is coming.
It matters because it shows us what is possible.
Should I biatch because I don't own a megabuck cascade or can't afford hundreds of litres of LN2 or Liquid helium?
Of course not. I sit back and watch in amazement at what is possible just as I would when watching any display.
It's not closed, it's just at another level.
There is still the competition that exists between people here that happens every day and that competition is healthy.
I can't match what you do but I don't get upset over it.
I accept it that your skills and equipment are better than mine and I'm happy for you.
No, it is closed, many people have access to cascades and LN2 but you dont see them getting access to this hardware. It does not show you what is coming or what might be possible, if the same results were possible with your run of the mill bought it from newegg CPU then why do you see the vast majority of WRs coming from non-standard hardware?
