So why not bring the competition into a realm where other users can also compete, rather than making it so exclusive? Why not lend that strength to the customers as well as the OEMs?
Oh, that's right, it doesn't help with marketing if it's regular users in control of records here, only the select few may apply. When limited to a sleect few, it's only important to a select few. The anger directed at this is purely related to that...jealousy.

Much Noise for little thing ...
I have nothing to do with this story, I clock in my house alone without having cpus or pcs pretested by the mark , i buy my chip for found the better.
But as I explained in my topic, I tested several ATI official driver (8.10/8.11/8.12) and none was perfectly stable with my CF, except a beta driver that I found on the FTP at AMD (Press)
The name of driver : sample_vista32-64_8-561-3-081217a-73402.exe

World Record official or unofficial , not importance for me ,
I'm not looking for the WR, I have pleasure in testing and finding the best settings.
The WR is just a bonus, I won no money, I no longer sleep and the marks don't offer me a pieces pretested to make World Record (if so, I must specify or don't publish)
I regret is that manufacturers are increasingly using the World Record as a target marketing !!!
If you want to make war, forget me please, I'm Not interested to be one or the other mark.
I am pleased that AMD back in the overclocking with this phenom II, I use a lot of Intel CPUs because they are more efficient for applications benchmark that I do.
Have fun, let's be united and help us together to advance the cause of overclocking :yepp:
A little humor between competition would not hurt sometimes, you need to know will not make remarks in the first degree
Ps : Sorry for my english

On last comment from me, Francois, to you, on this issue...
think about the cost of LN2...would it not be nicer if instead of buying LN2, we were buying more chips? It would help the industry, no? But instead we give the moeny to LN2 producers...:shakes: talk about improper marketing.

yawn...
see my avatar for my expression after reading this thread
any reason why I shouldn't lock this flamefest?
-
maybe we can put sampsa and francois in a cage and have them duke it out, it'd be much more entertaining. :p:
hmm, with the cash I could pull in from fox for such an idea i'd never have to worry about the costs for anything anymore...
-
please lock it.
after a day without coffee, i can't put into words how depressing this reading is.

It has been said before , This thread is doing more harm than good

My friends and I say this intentionally because that is how we should think of one another.
The first thing that needs to get settled is about Bob;
very simple, he used the best(most stable) driver he could find as we all would whether in benching or building a system for a family member.
I met him at the Xs party and a gentleman.
Next; Francois comments;
The question is how to take them and I think you'd have to meet the guy to understand them. Big outgoing guy and full of piss and vinegar as we say here.
A smart guy still filled with the passions we see in teenagers here and in some adults.
When I sift through all the talk from everyone I come back to reading his comments as "Hey guys, I got a better score"..Now add that in with who he works for and you can understand the passions and motivations involved.
Sampsa: He and his partners put on one hell of a show and it was work and that work brought them the World's record and they said so in their video.
The bottom line is I see this as something that shouldn't have happenned and may have been handled better thru PM's between Francois and Sampsa.
Once Francois had been told that only approved drivers counted then this issue would have been settled.
Now can I ask that you two guys simply agree that as it sits now the record is Team Finlands and shake hands as friends?
I admire both of you and hate to see this bad blood between you.
If for no other reason put this behind you for the good of the hobby.
Thanks for reading.
