This thread suddenly became pg-13. Also, good luck with that, sounds like may need some surgery afterwords.
I thought ASUS and Gigabyte have an agreement to work together on certain things, no?

Does anyone know if the "hardware raid" offered by this board has cache? If so then I believe it would be a great board for running mlc ssd's. Thanks for the reply if anyone knows, but I'm not holding my breath for the board having cache for the raid.
The layout looks pretty sound, and it's free of that ridiculous heatpipe array. Of course, leave it to Gigabyte to give the users an open back pci-e slot, with the bloody push pin for the northbridge RIGHT behind it.
nice! :toast:
remove the orange and yellow and its still clearly a gigiabyte board, but it doesnt look like the circus came to town anymore :D
My tester just arrived :)
Will begin extreme benching under LN2 Monday!
I just got a UD3P and will seriously consider this mobo if the price is right.

price looks good on the EX58 Extreme -> 265€, still only listed in a few shops, so i expect that the price drops down to somewhere around 240€ (same price as the X38/X58 where).
So no sign of more expencive mobos then last generation. :D
Ditch the ide/floopy, change orange to blue color and add S775 mounting holes. This would be a close call for my first x58 board then.
Tell Foxconn that.
