Don't use prime for stability test. Use IBT. you can find it here on XS.
Might want to give fsb +0.5ish. Strap a fan on the HS.

sometimes with some ram model ( ocz flex, etc, ) don'tturn on ,because the system drive so bad the ram voltage,if you are in default ,is sure that the ram have 1.8 vcore, but, if you take the ram" bad" and put something that can run,and next turn in manual mode the ram voltage for example to 2.0 vcore, you see that the "bad" module run very well like a champion.
You need to send an email to Biostar customer support. I hear they are testing out some OCZ ram and are working on a fix for that now, but the voltage options especally the GTL refs need to be much more grainular. The more people that email them about it the better chance we have of seeing a bios fix.
this definitely isnt the first i've heard of OCZ an P45 incompatability (P5Q3 anyone?) ...
Tony has run several sets of memory on this board, both 2GB and 4GB, at 1066MHz and 1150MHz. I have run a set of 2x1GB Reaper at 480 FSB, 1150MHz memory. I doubt it's an OCZ memory compatibility issue.
I have 2x2gb 1066mhz sticks and they have served me well on other boards. Ill play around with them some more.
i boot with 550 fsb now. a pic, maybe you see some dangerous settings :D

its all air cooling, i put one of the ocz ram freezer fans on the bridge and one is on the reapers, cpu is cooling by achilles, south by alpenfön

16GB at 800, infact i can do 16GB at 933
8Gb 1066 at 1066
4GB 1150flex at 1150
come on guys there is nothing wrong with our ram, issue is end user tweaking usually ;)
I did those setups in around 1 hr and then 8 hrs testing.
yeah yah, sry i didn't mean to invoke the magicks of 'product trashing' i know there's nothing wrong with OCZ RAM my apologies.
For the record my OCZ RAM worked fine with P5Q3 until i broke them. There were just a lot of people having problems.
Anyone tried P4\Celeron CPUs with the modded BIOS yet? FYI I have drank a lot of JD tonight so forgive me if some of my posts arent fully coherent :p:
Nobody is bashing your products Mr.OCZ Rep. Im just stating the fact that I cant run my hardware at the same settings that I have on other boards, atleast not as easily more testing is pending. I aslo just stated what a Biostar rep told me. He could be wrong.
Anyways, my main issue with this board is that I cant fine tune the GTLs. Thats going to hurt with a quad, which I was planning to pick up soon.
As easy as it is for manufacturers to blame eachother, for some particular ICs such as Microns I don't see there being too many problems.. more likely the TPower is a little fickle with what harware is hooked up to it. Due at mito the added CPU support in the mBIOS thght be relatively sorted now.
Do you think that is more of a hardware or software issue?
Probably software. Any iffy CPU support should be sorted now.
Cool, I wish I had a P4 to try out. At least there is hope for my ram settings as well.
I'm mounting I45 right now, I'll have some answers for you in an hour or two Ket.
Unboxed the board for a quick run. Should have used a dual core. On air the Q6600 is hitting 90C plus just a couple of minutes into the run with the x8 multiplier so had to use the x7. But the Reaper has no problem running its rated speed at 2.12V.

hm,what are the vcores on chip and northbridge? what are the other timing settings of ram?
yah hey Ket, flashed yer mBIOS, booted fine on my Q9450 at stock. Then I popped in my P4 530, and board instant FF then reboot, cycle. So, uh...P4 support don't exactly work.
EDIT: I'll pop my Q9450 back in and see how it handles.
so... not much luck OCing. POSTed at 8x400, but i didnt bother to go into windows. Tried booting at 6x450 but no POST had to clear CMOS. Even when powering on at default it sometimes hung at post code 37 and i had to restart to get it to POST.
This cpu is verified stable at 3.8 1.27v stable on 790i, so it's not exactly a dud.
Flashing back to stock now, gonna have some fun to verify that it's not just some weird kink. sorry Ket =[
keep crankin it though!
