Also, is there a WORKING AGP/PCI for this mobo? How did you get upto 290FSB without a lock?!?
Hi all :)
I've just bought a K8NNXP mobo. 2 days ago it did 288FSB with no mods (288*8 memo@230). Then I set 250x10 (memo@208) for every day use until I do vcore+vdimm mod and it worked stable for 1 day, but now I can't pass more than 230x10  (the HTT do 250 as before, but the cpu don't pass 2'3Ghz 1.7v)
I've seen that if you rise the HTT with Clockgen, the program only shows PCI speed increase, but if you close it an restart clockgen, it shows an AGP increse (like 83Mhz). Is this normal? Then i need to decrease agp speed to 66Mhz and works correctly.
Wich bios are you using? Any special config on it? :( Why first did 288Mhz "stable", and now can't make 250HTT or 2'3Ghz cpu? I've checked everything in the bios..
Thanks all :)
PD: Sorry for that bad english :P
PPD: A64 3200+, Gb K8NNXP, Geil 433 ultra (did 260 2-2-2@3'3V on the dfi infinity), prommy II cooled, no mods yet.
Edit**
This mobo is crazy :stick: now i'm running @ 280*8 1.6v ... fsb problems seems to be solved, but still freezes @ more than 2'33Ghz (1'74v).
try ldt 2x... use bootup at 201mhz APG 67mhz .. then use clockgen --- it now shows a working PCI and AGP lock.. allthough I still have doubts if the PCI lock is really working!..
I'm already with LDT 2X :( PCI Lock is not working in any NF3 150 (true?)
Hei! Problem solved :)
"use bootup at 201mhz APG 67mhz .. then use clockgen "
it worked :) Thanx! now 2'51Ghz HTT 283 Memo@232 (time to do some mods)
What should I do to get Higher HTT? @290 system freezes. I'm working on a Vcore + Vdimm mod and posible PSU mod for +3'6V line, but this won't improve an higher htt, no?
could be the non excisting PCI lock I am thinking about,.. dunno know what it else could be :)
edit: allthough to low vdimm could be an issue..
Well, Vcore + Vdimm mods done :) Now does 2'7Ghz FSB280 1:1 cas 3-4-4 (adata pc4000..). I would like the VIO 3'3V mod but it doesn't run
I set a 10K vr between Slim orange 3'3Vsens and a black wire(ground) but does nothing  I set 9k,8k... and any change to 3'3 line (at last with tester). Any ideas?
did you follow the vmod guide in here?
Yes I did.. but i have a question.. If i hadn't the ground thin wire and i used a normal ground, is the same? Or should I made a different operation? I've read something about "split" but i'm not really sure about what's that...
I've done the mod like if i had that thin black ground wire.
PD: You know if that mobo reads wrong the cpu temperature? I'm getting really high temps (-2ºC full, -25º idle @ CPU, but -40º, -60ºC on the freezer, and it's making right contact i guess...).
cant say cause I dont know what cooling you are using...
you should take the thin orange sense wire and cut it.. put a 10k VR on the cord from the PSU and direct it to one of the black grounds (in the center) in the ATX connector.
Ups sorry :P Prometeia Mach II with no mods. I've done the mod like you say...
You mean, cut the black ground and conect the cord coming from the psu (of the black one) to the center leg of the pot? This is what i've done. (and the thin orange coming from psu to the other leg of the resistor).Quote:
and direct it to one of the black grounds (in the center) in the ATX connector.
Edit* Finally got it, but after read "So many A64 deaths " post, i've unMod it again xD Don't wanna kill my baby...
Hi guys, how can I find a ground point using the multimeter? I jus nedd to find a point w/ no voltage on it?
well kinda a hard to tell.... Look in the vmod section.. all answers are there :D
What about VDIMM + VTT (Vbt) for K8NS?
I didnt understand yet where is the vcore read point on the k8ns ultra. Thanks in advance :)
:woot: Thanks to all who posted there knowledge and pictures of the Gigabyte MB mods. I just finished up VCORE & VDIMM mods on my GA-K8NS Pro. Now hopefully my chipset block will be here tomarrow and I can finish up
water cooling setup.
yeah this was what i needed - damn seems i'm really late with my "new" gigabyte k8nxp-9 ^^ now i can measure vdimm and compare with sandra...worx fine reading vdimm with sandra, not bad...
my modded booster working fine in slot 4 and my hyperx rock stable in slot 1&2 - time for prometeia action -.-
I need vcore and chipset voltmods, give me link please :)
I really want this mod. Help please.
Does anybody else have early memtest (windows version) errors when using wire to connect 3.3V directly to dimm cap? I have verified that the OCZ PC3200 Gold (BH5) is getting right voltage 3.26V (3.31V line dips down due to mod).
Memtest shows errors regardless which timings, and how high PSU 3.3V rail is set. Only way I found to eliminate problem is to lower Mhz down to 150! But, without the bypass, the 3.3V PSU mod (ex 3.5V,3.6V) makes little difference on Vdimm.
Max I went up to is 250Mhz for suicide shot, but 240 worked even in 3DMark2001 despite odd memtest errors. Antec PSU OC protection kick-in at ~3.75 so dont want to go borderline. Perhaps its just easier to use OCZ DDR BOOSTER (unless all 4 Dimm filled).
Id like to know how safe this mod is, the vdimm mod in the link below to get 3.3 volts on the ram. Will I blow a capacitor or something?
