You mean 29/09/2008...
So they are "accidentally" shipped in V1 packaging sometimes, and they say they are NOT the replacement for V1.
What? They don't want to loose money by throwing old boxes away:D
j/k of course:D
Can't wait to find out if these drives will deliver the goods to us, especially in small files writes...
That's why I was sad hixie sold his:(
although one can't blame him for the reason:D
V2 now instock at OcUK for 30-60-120 with more than 10 available.

This is really impressive, they just keep kicking out new tech, cheaper tech on the SSD at the current rate we might get to a point where its actually worth it to put a SSD in our computer, within a year or two.
so as a summary, what is the difference between v1 and v2 besides the capacity correction?
So do you guys from OCZ know or can tell if the random writes was improved?
the usb port is for firmware updates according to ocz
just a heads up that its available (in stock) in a few places
Any in the US yet?
yep available in the US, poke around with the respective model number you want, I got one shipped already should be here tomorrow.
will be testing in XP / Vista and posting in this thread probably read only since I don't have hdtune pro but I do have pcmark 05 pro
eww pricing is pretty nasty. almost $100 more than the old series
Please try and acquire HDtune Pro.
It's not that hard to find.
OCZ Core V2 - 60GB :D (just note that AHCI is on, going through turning it off) - XP SP3 - Intel ICH9R

I ordered two, should be here tuesday....edit: mwave sent them out faster than expected, I'll have them tomorrow. Attachment 84401
How about some IOMeter random write tests? Anyone?
yes, please do a random write test with these!
i ran small random writes on a hdtune pro demo and it falls in line with my older 250gb sataII seagate drive, averages around 6MB/sec and the newer seagate 350ish HDD is around 17MB/sec in that same test.
yes, its a known weak point of MLC drives, if random writes are important you need a caching controller or a SLC drive (assuming you want a SSD to begin with)
btw might be placebo but WoW was about 50ms or so less laggy than usual was 170-190ms last night off this drive and normally 220-250ms
When installing software does the system freeze up? All the benchmarks in the world amount to nothing if in real world use the drive still suffers there.
