then obviously no one knows, as this is a preview of the board. it's not even a full review
No you are wrong. The person who got the board will know or can find out. We just need to move this question up the chain till it reaches the source and then back to us again... so can the original poster go back to his/her source and ask the question? And ask the source (in the case that his/her source does not know) to go up to his/her source and ask the question .... and so on till we all get an answer?
Dont think it will be ICH10R:
Chipset
Intel® X48/ICH9R
in here - http://www.asus.com/news_show.aspx?id=12040
is it a transformer or a mb?

Well, a few days ago it showed up on Asus' support site, under downloads.

Pure speculation, but I'm thinking about 4-6 weeks, hopefully sooner though.

that block looks to be made from aluminium... when will they learn:shakes:
@$284 to $325 that makes Nehalem less than the cost of the wildly popular E6600 that sold for as much as $360. For the first 6 months the lowest price was about where Nehalem 2.66GHz will start. The problem is the Motherboard's cost might look just like this Asus Board. I'd stick with the $130 version until Nehalem ships.
Sorry to ask such a basic question - never had a crossfire board before - can I run a single GTX280 on it ?.
Thanks All.
Yes you can run a single GTX280 in it.
Bloatboard that gets outdated within 2 months. Still a nice board though. :)
this board is like some lego construction kit - there are hundreds of possibilities to attach parts to it
though, this board looks awesome. it's bloated yes, but just from the looks it's very high-grade and the black, red and gray colors mix up very well.
and all the settings, and the Tweakit function just seems to rock with on-the-fly settings.... can it be better? and those who got the board, it simply rock! very feature rich bios, good cooling... good components, this is Asus nr1 card i think... its a "me want warning" all over it hehe.
Now in stock at www.overclockers.co.uk !!
That's $450
I think I might go with a P5Q or Maximus II if the price is the same here in US.
super overpriced!!! fail
As all Enthusiast motherboards with ddr3, all top notch x48 boards costs as much. its just to swallow it and buy.. :)
I am not sure what they are talking about but this LOOKS to be the first review of the Rampage Extreme....or is it the Maximus II Extreme? Or maybe some mythical board that has a P45 chipset and somehow morphs into a Rampage Extreme when you take pics of it....

I think you need to mentally replace the "Maximus II Extreme" with "Rampage Extreme", then everything makes sense...
Was thinking of posting on the discussing page but cba to register...
edit: then it talks about Crosslinx, from then on the "review" lost all of its credibility.
