i think that is true for the X38/X48 and the P45 chipset...they were really designed by intel with DDR3 in mind!
did you mean to say that the above 600 mhz was attained by you setting PL13 on your board?Quote:
That's PL 13 for Christ sake

that last paragrap above might be the problem...maybe the bios won't allow JMicron controller to function in IDE when you have all six ports occupied on the Intel controller...have you tried unplugging 2 or more drives from the intel controller to see if that has any influence on the JMicron controller?
the drive should show up in disk management as an available drive to partition and format but it won't show up in Windows Explorer.Quote:
I don't understand why a drive should have to partitioned in order to show up as a disk in Disk Management. In all my experience with RAID controllers I've never seen that requirement.
i've heard a few people having problems getting a drive to be visible during setup for XP...vista should see it all except for third party Raid cards
like Areca, as an example...i need to load the Areca driver in order to see the drives during setup using either vista or XP.
i saw on the Asus P45 board someone posting PL=15:confused:

New version of the Gigabyte Ultra TPM software, July 8th: http://www.giga-byte.com.tw/Support/...ProductID=2831
The new gigabyte board still looks the same old gigabyte board. hehehe They should have at least a new look for their high-end parts. :D
 doesn't sound like you've looked very far :shrug:Quote:

luck:)
EP45-DQ6 is a very different PCB design....
sorry i was referring to the color scheme. :D Putting looks aside, this one seems to be a pretty nasty board.
 will give you that , at least it's not as bad as the pink ram slots on the X48T :ROTF:Quote:

Anybody got any basic settings put together they can post?
you must be lazy for not even looking back one page.
The water cooling option is a big
Like what aerosmith says? "Pink is my favorite color?" :DQuote:

Well, ACE - I didnt see any setting templates on any pages in this thread. Sure, I see the link, but I can't access that link from the firewall I"m stuck behind at the moment.
I was trying the board (GA-EP45-DQ6) last night with the F8 BIOS and it was pretty much an overclocking turd. Could not move past a 345 FSB without a crashed boot. Keeping in mind I just pulled the board out of its box yesterday and went straight to the newest BIOS.
This morning, I put F7 on the board and was able to get to a 400FSB. When I tried 450, it was another crash POST and now the board hangs before POST. I've cleared the CMOS a few times (by the button on the bottom of the board) and it still hangs at post. The board isn't totally dead becuase if i pull the memory sticks and power-up i do get some beep codes. So.....
I pulled the battery and will let it sit until i get home from work tonight. That shoudl be about a 9 hour drain......
<NOTE> This is the DDR2 version of the board.
Have a look at Tuning Bios - GTLREF & DRAM Sub Voltages should be the same on yours. also check out the index I've posted up a 9x470 occt stable with bios settings may help you on your way.
luck:)
Ok, will do. That link is also blocked by our Big Brother firewall. so i'll have to check it out when i get home.
Has the whole BOARD FREEZES BEFORE POST ever happneed to anyone else? My guess is i'll have to change CPUs real quick to force the board to turn over then i can put the other CPU back in. I have a Q6600, but i'd prefer to have the E8400 in there.
sorry for being so blunt but if you had said i can't link to anything because my work's firewall is blocking it, i could have gone the extra mile by posting Supershanks actual bios template here in this forum.
did the battery out correct your problem?...if not, you have a bios problem and that should be RMA'd.Quote:

one other suggestion: work with only on stick and switch sticks out to see if you find the best stick to work with...some times memory needs high voltage from the get-go in order to even post.
Well i finally ordered the EP45-DQ6, took ages for it to come into stock in Ireland, €225 shipped.
LINK situation: noted for future posts - thanks.
Battery Fix: No go  The board was sent to me by Gigabyte for evaluation (I do reviews at http://www.cluboc.net) and i wanted to come here for fellow insight advise. Overclocking on my 780i motherboard is pretty simple and with all the added voltages on this board, I wanted some insight as to what the overclocking community has come up with to stabilize this board.
While i don't consider myself an overclocking NOOB, it's resources like this that we lean on to help reduce the learning curve.
may i suggest you go over where supershanks has this board and is posting an ongoing Living review...he does a VERY thorough job on reviews.
I will definetly check it out. As of lunch-time, i had no replies from Gigabyte as for a corrective action. The only other board that i've had act like such a chode was my Asus Striker 680i. THAT board was a serious PITA to flash.
I'll have to hit that link from home becuaes it to is flagged as a "games/hobby" site by our big brother firewall.
I really wish i could get a wireless signal in my office so i could use a my laptop. Even so, the laptop has a camera in it, and is not allowed in area. Lovely............ Oh well. Thanks for the info.
