Nothing wrong with AS5, been around for years. The reviews usually show MX-2 to be a little better, but AS5 is still pretty good.
Anyway, looks like 3 803b196's. I hope mines is as good as yours.
Uhh... just received new cooler. Testing just the fan out, and... results are incredible! E8400 @ 4GHz (500 x 8) @ 1.350v stressing with Prime95 small FFTs... barely 45C max! Idling at 20C, and that was just the fan! I wonder what the heatsink can do...
Edit: small review of the Noctua NF-P12 fan on Big Typhoon:

That's it, folks. That's the review.
Got mine in and running P95 @ 3.6GHz with 1.3vcore set in bios (1.27 in CPUz), all other voltages at minimum. Once my DFI board gets here I am going to slap it in there are see how far I can push it.
Yes...running P95 for over an hour so far. We'll see how far it goes (after 8 hours I stop). So far this is a great CPU. It replaced a Xeon X3210 and this seems so much snappier in apps and even when windows loads. If I can get this stable on the DFI board at 3.8GHz I will be very happy.
Not the X48. Couldn't justify it so I ordered the LP LT P35. I already got one from motherboardpro but had to send it back. it was the oddest thing...I was OCing my E3110 with it and all of a sudden it started failing P95 in like 10seconds. Even after reverting back to all stock settings it would not even run SPi all the way through. I swapped out every piece of hardware (CPU, memory, HD, PSU, GPU, etc) and applied every trick I have learned about DFI boards over the years (memory in all slots, over night bios clear, etc.) and nothing worked. I even tried to reinstall the OS but the system would stay stable long enough to install Windows. So I ordered another one from the egg and sent the bad one back to DFI for RMA and a refund.

since alot of people here have this chip maybe u guys can help me out
but no 2.0 PCI-E
As far as I know there isn't any cards that max out a PCIe x16 v1.1 slot, so aside from the extra power circuitry in v2.0 (and since v1.1 is still widely used, cards have a PCie power plug anyway), there isn't a need for it at the moment.
And by the time cards come out that DO need PCIe v2.0, most of us will have upgraded to Nehalem boards anyway :p:
Eller
well I can understand that, but I don't want to upgrade anything but my gpu after this building point..thats why im looking at getting 2.0
anyone overclock the X3350 on a X48 DFI before?
I'm pretty sure the multis are laser locked.
will 1 x pci-e 2.0 be a bottleneck with g100/r700/larrabee cards later this/next year?
actually meant to say will 1x pci-e 1.0 be bottleneck in the not too distant future?
x48 is only a tad more expensive than x38 dfi...but what do you actually get for that? 10 more fsb on quads?:hehe: or not much at all...
you would think it would be better on the x48 thats what im hoping for
If you're not sure, you can try getting one of the boards that have had great results with the chip instead. Some are going for quite cheap, too.
Well, so far it doesn't look like I have a super chip. Just played with it for a few minutes and got 3.6 at 1.34v. Ran Othos for about 10min and then shut it down. I hate running that stuff, lol. Of course it could be the ram as it has trouble around 450.
Youch... so you're telling me I'm holding the world record at the moment? Come on now...? :p: Hmm... and is it 1.34v read by CPU-Z, or 1.34v set in BIOS? I have to set mine to 1.3625v in BIOS now because... I forgot to pencil my motherboard. I think I'm going to pencil it again now.
BUMP... and for god's sake... why is it that the voltage requirement is going down so much? Now it requires only 1.312v to stay stable... huh?

And thanks to new cooler, small FFTs can not even touch 70C anymore. They reached 77C before.
Edit: Oh, and real temperature is actually 3-4C cooler than what's being reported by Real Temp. I forgot to tick the "--" option in Idle Temperature Calibration.
You're running an old version of Prime95, use Orthos, it runs 2 instances per exe. Set Priority to 5, and run custom FFT of 10K IN PLACE. That's the hardest cpu test. People who pass 8K FFT stable for hours fail 10K in minutes.
