Ok guys, now I need some help.
Installed each card one at a time and each card was fine! Each card installed individually registered having two cores.
Put them both back in and violla, I'm only showing 3 gpus. Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers with each hardware change.
I blew my board didn't I...
Guess its just the universe telling me to get back to my homework... I do have 2 chapters worth of dissertation due next week afterall! (what a horrible time to release new hardware) :(
Maybe it's a Gpu-z's bug? Wait for a new release :(
I can't wait to get one. Should be fun.
simply run 3dmark and compare to similar systems.then u will easily know then if all 4 enabled.i mean after doing that u can easily tell if your like 2,000+ from a core disabled compared to similar systems.gpu-z,drivers is sometimes always not on the money even if the hardware is totally fine..bleh.
seems like were in the age were we can make thee best hardware(cards, cpus) to run anything butter smooth like games,3dmark etc.but the software does not always play nice with all proggies.need more software engineers to talk to each other from diff companys(video conference?).
shame that every 6 months or so there should be a mandatory meeting of a few engies from top brand diff card, orb, game developers\companys and they talk about issues etc.these ppl should make like a "congress" u can be elected into aand get the inside facts from one another in these meetings.guess im dreaming cause it really seems like engies sit back after hardware is developed as the end consumers(us) have to figure out these problems basically on our own.i know engies read this site ALOT and take it to the lab.now what they do with it...
hey sonofander, you mind doing a benchmark for me? i would like to see your results in crysis with the following settings:
1920x1200
Very High Settings / DX10
No AA
No vsync
Ouch sonofander :( Read about the 3 core monster :D ... what the heck ? ... Any news on that ?
Uff CPU Score very bad xD (Bug 2 cores)

guess what I found in the back of my closet behind some boxes???
a fourth GPU core! :D
it's kinda crippled and wont run past stock with any stability, but it'll do the job till it's replacement gets here...
heres a quick Crysis bench @ 1900x1200 very high for whoever asked for it

sorry its at stock, so performance isn't as great as it coulda been, but I'm just glas to have gotten this thing working at all :)
Nice to hear, what did you do?
Wow 45FPS at stock clocks... Thats great.
Who knows... LOL
Played with the bid card bios a bit and tinkered with the drivers. Not sure what intervention did it, but its up and running. Its running like crap though :(
Can't wait to get a couple more of these next week! Gonna cherry pick the 2 best clockers from the bunch, figure out how to tighten down this 790i board and hopefully get some better numbers for you guys.
Eddy is working on some blocks, so once I get these under water, we'll really see what they can do.
I gotta say though, what I'm really looking forward to is Vince getting his under ln2!!!
Hurry up Vince!
Eddy's Asus 1 blocks will work on the 790i reference board. I sent a PM to Eddy and I am waiting on him to confirm this.
Should ViperJohn reproduce his mosfet heatsinks for the 790i soon we will be "good to go!"
Is your rig on air now?
link in sig my man :)
Would love some help guys. Im running 2 9800gx2's (XFX) and im not getting close to the numbers your getting. My rig is listed below and as you can see its no slouch.
What sli performance mode should i be using in control panel?
Im using drivers 174.53, and getting an average of 42 fps in crysis benchmarking tool ( Very high, 1900x1200).
Thanks in advance

check this link mate http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3271&p=4
1920x1200 looks like the sweet spot for quad-sli but needs loads of CPU horsepower
i'm currently using quad-sli and 8500@4+GHz,the results are still quite disappointing
2560x1600 is out of the question, the GX2's just don't have it
I'm at work now, but I believe my 2560x1600 score with CPU at 4.0 was 15,000 and only 1 GX2. I'm still waiting on the second one.
hi all
congr. sonofander... ı want to show you my score for compare
system
QX9650
EVGA 780İ

when ı use older drivers took below scores
174.60 = 92k
174.53 = 88k
Can someone who is using quad please tell me in detail what global and game profile settings they have changed to get the best performance. Im getting some ridiculous performance in some games, where other are getting 3 times the performance.
So in summary, what global settings need to be changed in nvidia control panel to get the best out of these cards.
Thanks guys.
