I haven't been able to reach 475 FSB stable with this board yet with a quad :S
My board will do 500mhz FSB on my Q6600, havent primed it at all but its fully benchable with futuremark suites at this.
finally I'm at 3.2GHZ on 1.32V , going to attempt going higher . :)
Is it a bad idea leaving the ram voltage on auto
lol wtf notice the cpu differences in coretemp and cpuz wtf !!!!!!!

Way to go kup:up: You have now made it easier for other MAX user and myself to get the facts, drivers, Bios and well everything.
Well done my friend well done!!!!
Hey kup, are the drivers at Intel's site any good or newer? If so shouldn't they be also added to your links on the first post.
how do I retrieve the information from occt when its done. I finish the test but I don't know where the results are.
CoreTemp is reading the VID, not the vCore. VID is the Intel set vCore for default operation for your particular chip. CPU-Z is reading the vCore, which is the actual vCore.
You need to assign a sensor monitoring program to OCCT for it to read and then report the various sensors and voltages.
Not sure off the top of my head, I'll check the dates and update if I find something good?
Original thread link added! ;)
I changed my bios yesterday to 903 and found i was very unstable. I tried adjusting all kinds of things and it was just not there.
So i slept on it and tried again this morning... anyway...
Firstly i just set everything as before except the voltages. I left my Vdimm at 2.16 because my ram is rated at 2.26 and the board overvolts 2.16 to 2.27
Then i set the vcore to 1.335 as was needed for Prime stable at 4Ghz and left every thing else to auto.
Believe it or not this was 100% rock stable.
By just changing the vcore i have been able to do 8 hours prime small fft at 4.3 - 430x100 with 1.45v vcore and hit 428x11 4,7 for superpi.
It will not go higher than 435 with these settings but imo thats a right result from the bios. 903 rocks.
What kind of pencil do you use to do the Vdroop pencil mod?
I used a 4B pencil. Used two or three stokes only.
ChaosMinionX do you have the 500 FSB settings you used please? It would be really helpful
great thread you guys:up:
Got a weird issue here. Updated to latest 0903 bios and having SATA drive detection issues on restart. If I could boot the drives are normally detected okay and Vista boots.
Once in vista I ocassionally find one of my 3 drives seems to become disconnected and causes vista to lock up for 40 seconds or so.
I have 2 WD 500 AAKS's and a 200 gig Maxtor diamondmax 10 I think + a Samsung DVDRW.
Always is the 200 Gig Maxtor having issues. I am wondering if the DVD is interfering with it some how.
Anyone encountered this or have any advice.
The controller is in RAID mode as my WD's are raided.
I had the same issue with 0401 bios too. SB volts seem fine as well.
Anyone with over 470 FSB stable on Quad could you share settings please? I am still struggling with getting 1mhz more when 470 primes for 12 hours and OCCT is 100% stable.
Well seems as if the issue might be my Diamondmax 10 drive. It is the drive that keeps thinking it has been disconnected while vista is running and causes all sorts of bizarre issues.
Done a little searching and seems people had the issue when they were nforce 4 drives.
Seemed okay on my 975....
Grrr
Dudes, does bios 0903 work with QX9770, cos I have one sitting on my desk...
Test it Bulldog! It should do yes!
I will, tomorrow. Cos today I clelebrate that CPU with good Irish whiskey :)

I can run 470+ with 8x no problems. Fully stable but I need voltages of NB 1.74 and FSB 1.75.
With 9x no good.
I know my CPU can do this and more.
On a P35 chip board (P5K Premium) my CPU did 9 x 489 Prime and OCCT stable. But not on this board. I got this for X fire where it is much better than P5K.
