EDIT:...what's the verdict on the X38 model (dual ddr version)?
luck:)
I am not going to get into an argument with you my but I won't answer to you either...I have tested upwards of 250 motherboards and over 400GB of ram
How much testing have you done?
Im not going to respond to you here...but I know how to test, trust me.
Linpack is NOT as good as you think, I have already run 10hrs stable Vs 2 hrs failure with other stress tests, and I know others have also...its good but not as good as you think.
I just moved on looking for something better, I don't have time to pause debating the issue.
Mars is already back in its box, Striker II Formula and Maximus Formula are on the bench while I help get the boards working correctly.
to me, memtest and other memory testing benches can frustrate the heck out of you...i rather let windows or installed softwre tell me when the timing or voltage is wrong for the sticks.
EYE LOVE MY MARS !

Yep it only looks a small oc to me:shrug: :ROTF: Can't see the detail :)Quote:
Sorry, it says I need a password to view your ss.
@Ace-a-RueYep i'd tend to agree. Memtest 86 is graet for finding optimum voltage & a few other things but can be frustrating in detecting errors. Like many there are times when memtested memory still give errors in the OS.Quote:

If checking memory now i tend to use a couple of instances of Memtest HCI in windows. Both have there drawbacks.

This is a P35 mobo with 2 16x PCI-e graphic ports? I thought I read that somewhere. Or is it still 16x 4x with Crossfire like most P35 mobos?
According to the manual, it's 2 x 16X PCI-E
Btw, does anyone here has temp. reading problems with the MARS + Wolfdale?
It's the usual P35 2x16 1x pci-e x16 mode + 1x pci-e x4 mode
 :ROTF:
lol Cronos getting spanked by a couple of industry veterans heheh
hey Garry long time no see :toast:
hope some1 is able to help me here, got my Mars yesterday from Newegg, now its able to do Instant OC till 20% but with the same exact settings cannot do Manual OC. Oh I am on a E8400 which i have tested on a P5Ne SLI board till 4325 Mhz. Have updated the bios to P09 or maybe P11.
Tony regarding the tRFC value 54 is needed for 4x2GB and for 2x2GB also?
I am asking that because from G.Skill & Muskin 2x2GB configuration 52 is enough
for 530+@5-5-5-x. I will test also with value > 54 and see how it goes later this day.
i had a choice , DFI LP35 TR2 or MARS, i chose DFI since it is 25% cheaper and gives similiar o/c results , Foxconn is a good brand ,they hired some engineers from DFI so now we have results , but still they don't have relatively cheap/solid/good o/c board, and that is the way to go right now for most of Reatailers.
52 is bang on where its at, i set 54 to allow some margin of error thats all.
Also when you compare tRFC to voltage 54 may allow slightly lower than 52 with 60 allowing lower than 54....its a very fine line though
