You likely won't post one of those topics. The 3.X seem to have the problems fixed as there have been only 2 "mentioned" deaths. One was mentioned by Petra and he's sure it was user error claiming the pump was dead (it works fine for him) and the other melted the Petra's gel stuff and that oozed up into the pump and shorted it out.Quote:

So...any news on this lately? I'm one of the people who have done the port blending mod to the stock piece, but I'm also interested in a replacement with some performance improvements and barb flexibility (G 1/4).

Eddy hinted about a D5 top very recently so we will see some action after all...
I myself am developing a top for the D5 alongside MartinM, so hopefully when my CNC mill gets to working, it'll be able to churn out some D5 tops :D
There will be a new mounting mechanism as well, to mate the top to the motor. Too difficult to thread something that big right now as well as make the sleeve that compresses the O-ring. What I have in mind is much simpler.

Yeah, a D5 pump top will be great.
Getting ready to do a DDC pump top shootout soon, would really enjoy doing the same for the D5. I think you can make the pump quite a bit smaller to, by making the new top.
I got 2 D5 waiting for tops :) a easier way to link 2 in series would be great too!
id love one, specialy if it increases flow. and the use of EK barbs would be nice. 2-3 for me please. lets getter done.
Here is the D4 polarflo top. I'm not sure if it fits the d5 or if it improves flow. Worth a shot if you have both.

If there is any reason you would want to pay for something like this, it would be for the barbs or looks, your temps will not drop any visible amount most likely.
the top design would probably be something like ddc top, middle inlet, side outlet, more or less some improvements on pressure and flow, and supposed to be "much more" reliable d5 than a ddc...
