hmmm interesting... so you needed more chipset voltage for tighter pl and not really higher memory clocks? but you DID notice that increasing vmch is necessary to get higher memory clocks or its making the same clocks with less vdimm possible and higher clocks with the same vdimm possible?

no, actually i dont used wolfdale in x38, but i dont think that mobos could handle much more than 600fsb...
btw i prefer asus mobos, and we could read a lot about the maximus problems on sub-zero... so waiting position for the rampage and the p45 as many others...

x38 is good for high fsb, but ROG boards for some reasons suck... i guess its caused they are tweaked for higher ipc?
and sorry to dissapoint you but even p5k3 boards have problems under cold temps :( not all... and sometimes it works... but not for long :/
ive seen thoseproblems with 2 boards myself and i heard from 2 other people having cold problems with the p5k3... :/
benchzowner said he got his p5k3 to work well with ln2, i think he used some extra insulation and made sure the caps and coils didnt get too cold.

The P5K3 Deluxe worked like a charm for me with LN2 ( I only benched with it & LN2 three times... ) [ and yes...I'm in intoxication....I haven't benched with DI/LN2 for 3 months or so :D ]
I shall be benching with the board & LN2 in a week or so...I'll give you pics of my insulation, etc if you want :)

I also wanted to ask ... Lower values as far as the Performance Level is concerned, can improve a 3D score ... ? :confused: For instance Performance Level 5 ... ;)
Yup...performance level has some nice impact on 3D Mark2001SE/AquaMark3 & SuperPi :D

ive seen a roundup of p35 and x38 boards, i think it was on the hardware site of jmax. he tested the p5k3 vs blitz and p5e3 dlx vs maximus i think, so basically the normal asus board vs the rog asus board. and every rog board got around 50mhz lower fsb speeds than the normal asus boards.

that article could be interesting, but it's only one review, and i don't believe to normal testers, not real overclockers (and i don't talk about jmax)... the most favorited hw forum in hungary was made a review that foxconn mars is a crap board, worse than p5k deluxe... and they used around 450fsb walled cpu for testing the mobo's oc potential... i think you know what i'm talking about :rolleyes:

as you can see rog boards reached much lower fsb results in their reviews.
i dont know what straps and voltage options they used though...
Performance Level 6 for the DDR3-2020 7-7-6-21 tests, and Performance level 8 ( 7 proved to be stable as well ) for the DDR3-2056 8-7-6-21 tests.

Gonna finish the review ( now I need to run the benches with the various kits & write the text :p: ) and after that...I'm gonna mod the board and hit for sky high numbers...I believe they're waiting for me :D
damn lucky board you have there. your one of those cases where the chipset is about as good as its going to get. vMCH mod probably won't do a whole lot for you except add a little more stability at high FSB low PLs like 500/6. it will be interesting to see what it does for that board.
would like to see single 32M maxes and could you pretty please list BIOS set voltage for all your screen shots. one thing i like about the Maximus Xtreme, vDIMM gets picked up by Everest for ease of doing that.

i have a bunch of p5k3 deluxe boards and the best can do 985 stable more or less... but if you look at all the new boards with x38 and p35 they seem to hit 1000+ consistently...
when did you get that new p5k3 dlx bill?
1-2 months ago right? all my p5k3s are 6 months old...
the new p5e3 i got last month does 1000+ as well...
I'll give you any info ( NB steppings, etc ) tomorrow ( if it's viewable with bare eyes...need to pick up a new camera :D )
