Oskar certainly knows AMD based mother boards better I feel, the NF2 Ultra B, NF3 250GB and the NF4 series lanparty boards were the best for each chipset, giant Asus could not produce as competitive boards.
I don't think DFI did too badly with their Intel boards, the 975 board was good after a certain bios' release, the 965 infinity also seemed to do very well apart from coil noise, P35 lanparty seems to be having its praise sung at the moment.
RD600 and 680i seemed to be the real let downs for DFI on 775.
My concern over RD790 is that it won't be the best chipset for K10 if we go by past experiences. RD420 and RD580 were ok chipsets for 939 but I felt NF4 was better, at least when talking about DFI.
I think Nvidia's chipset for K10 will have the best performance, one of the nvidia guys in a conference was saying they would be concentrating on AMD before something else (that something else I now forget) as they seem to have more experience in that department than others.
I hope 790 is good though, more choice for us end users is only a good thing.
no ddr3 support...
well thats not until socket am3..... sooo if the cpu which is am2+ cant run ddr3 i cant imagine why on earth youd want it on the boardQuote:

I agree with Brother Esau completely. I made the switch to Intel, and i'm not very happy. It isn't NEARLY as responsive as my old AMD, but it runs cool, and is wicked fast, but i can't find a processor i'm happy with. It's kind of spoiled me with overclocking, but I still miss my AMD.
I'm definitely making the move to Phenom, as soon as AMD releases a second revision of it...maybe a third.

But is is exactly the same with the sapphire 790FX board..

Good looking board. The heat sinks are attached to the board using screws like the P-35 (good !!), so it should be fairly easy to remove the southbridge heatsink screws, lift it up slightly, and put in that middle motherboard screw. I usually replace the factory goop on all my heatsinks anyway.
I would like to see DFI release a 770 version (or 790x if you need cross-fire) with the black non-heatpipe design of the LT P-35 AND the traditional orange slots (NF4 Ultra) of the new "Dark" P-35. Price it in the $150-170 range of the new Dark P-35 LanParty's and they will go off the shelves as fast as "free women and free whiskey".
Maybe we should start a petition to DFI. :D
