now we only need a review with Games to compare with GTX .............

Are you blind? :D There's 9 game benchmark comparisions that compares results between GTX, GT, both GTS cards & 8600 GTS and 1GB Radeon 2900XT at resolutions 1280x1024, 1600x1200, 1680x1050, 1920x1200 with both AA and AF disabled and AA4x & AF16x enabled. What more could you possibly be asking for? :D

Two of these are my next buy for sure:D .Still haven`t seen any Uk stores give them a mention, has there been a confirmed release date yet?
Only hope now, new 780 boards prove to be better for OC`in Quads.

One serious note This is a PCI-E 2.0 card.
Are the reviewers using a Pci-e 2.0 motherboard and would the benchmarks be lower on non pci-e 2.0 boards?
Or is the gt not even playable on our 680i 650i boards?
I'm not a naysayer, just extremely detail oriented ;)

Yea, that's a very good question I've also been wondering about. The motherboard used here in this review seems to be ASUS P5E3 X38 motherboard and all the earlier benchmarks were also done on a X38 board which has pci-e 2.0 support. So I'm wondering whetever this PCI-E 2.0 makes this card looking this good or if it only actually matters like 0-3 FPS for example which wouldn't matter. But now if it would help like 5 - 10 FPS in avg here in these tests for example, then it would start meaning something.

Good to know, because I have a new, sealed 680i eVGA NF68-A1 sitting here that I was about to put into my system to go with my two G92's once they come in (pre-ordered and waiting!) for SLI :D.

Could you please elaborate a bit on that aspect a bit? What you mean by "same performance", like are we talking 0-3 FPS differences with a single card or more? And which are your sources you're referring to on this one? Also I know difference would increase depending on resolutions we're talking about but I'm only using 1280x960 myself and if I'd pick up an LCD today it would most likely have a res of 1680x1050 or less so for me it doesn't matter what differences are at 1920x1200 res for example though. :p:

I just would like to know the truth about this one, as a tweaker I am, it would disturb me if I knew I could get 5 - 10 FPS extra with a X38 motherboard but then again I don't feel switching board only cuz of an aspect like that but at same time I'd wanna get those extra FPS too. :p:

whoa SLI!!! thats going to be interesting. hurry up and get them and do some benchs. wonder how these will run in crysis.

so my PSU has a 12v of 18amps will this be enough for 1 8800gt?

How can it be the same performance? If it were the same, 2.0 would of never been created..
Imagine if everyone sold their cards to go purchase a new card that won't even work on an older motherboard, or not as well.
Nvidia needs a specsheet and some details if they are going to release this card and have it selling on vendors sites.
The best news I have heard so far is that it uses less power, since this is truely the way to go.
I think the use of 1000watt and 1200watt psus is not the wave of the future.
Unless you would think of quad sli ;P
I hope this works well with pci-e 1.0 motherboards, because to upgrade to a new motherboard for this is not worth it.

There's no real reason it would need PCI-E 2.0's bandwidth yet, when most current cards aren't even limited by an 8x PCI-E 1.0 slot, let alone the equivalent "32x" 16x PCI-E 2.0 one :).

Yes PCI-E 2.0's bw is needed for future for sure and the 150W support from a single PCI-E 2.0 slot is right now more important (so it still wouldn't be totally useless even if it had no performance edge today) than the bandwidth edge. But in some review for probably an 8800GTX card I think it was it looked like already at PCI-E 8x there were some slowdowns in some tests but it was at rather high resolution too and at 4x it was quite a difference in almost all tests. So we're probably getting very close to the point where the extra bandwidth will start playing a role but I'd like to know if that point has been reached by now or if we still have to wait 1 or 2 graphic card generations still for example.

This is not true when it comes to SLI.
Look at VR-Zones benchmark between the asus p5n-e sli 8x (i own this) vs P5n32 16x sli..

At 1920x1200 Company of heroes is 18% slower on the 8x sli.
At 2560x1600 Company of heroes is 21% slower on the 8x sli.

It even says that has the games get more graphically intensive, the % will grow and be more visible..

(winces) Apparrently I jumped in too early... the listing was pulled from the site I ordered from's distributor and I had to cancel my order as it couldn't go through :(. I guess I'll be watching like a hawk for any in-stock ones along with everyone else the next week ;)!

Yea for me only single card is interesting and resolutions like 1920x1200 and above also ain't interesting but can any1 say for sure if with a single 8800GT if PCI-E 1.1 16x will be enough to not cause any fps drops at resolutions like 1280x1024 - 1680x1050.

you probably won't find that out till release day or after that.

this card is interesting, i like the performance it gives at its price point. its either this or HD3870 for me. just 3 more weeks...

I would think newegg.com will have them on sale Sunday (or late Saturday) as they are not shipped anyway.

At leased that's what I am hoping for.

I guess so, I hope at least some1 will be able to make at least somewhat accurate testing on this like comparing P35 vs a X38 mobo with this card and same settings etc. Would do it myself out of personal interest if I wasn't budget limited.

I'm also in the process right now to decide go for 8800GT or wait for accurate 3850/3870 testing first. There's a couple of things I like about NVIDIA that matters to me like how often new drivers gets released and how big driver tweaking community they have so 3850/3870 would have to have a clear edge over 8800GT and the AA issue fixed in order for me to choosing one of those instead but I'm still doubting they will have a clear advantage over a card that is already this great for $249.

i'm sure a site like FiringSquad will do a review with single and SLI configs (680i = pci-e 1.0/1.1 or whatever).

whether the HD3850/3870 have AA fixed is the million dollar question at the moment for the ATI camp. but i'm pretty sure they did, why else would they change the name to HD3xx0.
