Got this from the DFI site :Supports DDR2/ DDR3 memory
The substitution of memory's each generation is being faster and faster. We still remember that; the market leads us to replace our memory to DDR2 while we're just used to use DDR. Then, we're finally figure out what exactly DDR2 is, meanwhile, the module manufacturer teaches us to choice DDR3 and try to say goodbye to DDR2… Hence, DFI is considerate of power users' unique demand. LP UT P35 series is ready to launch DDR2 and DDR3 models to satisfy power users' request. The LP UT P35 T3R (DDR3) will be launch into market right after LP UT P35 T2R.
I hope its a sweet overclocker.
Well, DFI writes for the 680i:

And lower heat means less power wasted. I´m sure there are reviews to be found that backs it up.
Thank you.
The problem I see here is: The digital PWM on the Abit Quad GT is said to be very hot (I read in a german forum >100°C) so I'm wondering where is the "less heat" there.
The second thing is noise of some PWM components.
I really hope that DFI does it right and gives us a quiet and efficient digital PWM.
looks nice.
I want something to replace my 965 but im not sure if it should be the P35 or X38
i think x38 will be ddr3 only.
This board just got Oskar &co to 666FSB!
Noo not more digital pwm's... They dont really offer much better regulation and they are more difficult to cool if you have to take off all the heatpipe crap :(
thanks for the pics alphaone! :toast:
the variable heatpipe thing is nice!
but ... the color is really really ugly.... really...
too bad dfi didnt anounce this board before, i thought they do straight for x38? now everybody looking for p35 already bought another brand p35 board...
Exactly. DFI needs to communicate better with their supporters. A simple "hey dont buy any boards until the end of august 'cause we have a new one coming out based on P35" I think a lot of us would hold off until then.
This is totally unacceptable. Just got a P5K and now i have to buy this? same crap happened on 965p. I bought p5b dlx then infinity 965s came out. it's good for the economy but bad on the wallet.
yup :D as we all can see the hype and the 666fsb thread.
dfi isn't as big as other oem and should be carefull choosing the path.
it's very logical path to abandon the ddr2 support .
now i can really think about selling my amd64 system and getting this mobo with a Q6600 or E6750
IT's NOT GREEN!
The Hue and Saturation has been altered, look at the back of the case, also green...
Look below, same board, good ol' orange.

At any rate, color aside. This board better be out by the end of July, we really need a proper DFI board on time, just like in the old days.
But, has anybody got a clue price wise? I hope they won't jump on the 400USD wagon like others have.
DFI showed off X38 with DDR2 at Computex so its very much there..
I like the green better.
