My P5K dlx is oof by this same amount. I'm starting to think it is by design.

it seems a lot of boards experience that!...my Abit QuadGT has about .03 to .05 difference between bios and what is actual vcore for idle conditions....the variation is because my idle vcore throttles between 1.5 and 1.52v..i have 1.55 set in the bios.

what specific lian li case do you have?

Very interested in the IP35 Pro or Asus P35k Delux. Never had an Abit mobo before, how is their support? Sounds like they're slow with Bios updates.

the QuadGT team were very slow getting bios updates out...i hope they do not duplicate that same experience...probably a different team watching over the IP35.

Hey that should be a good read. Glad you are enjoying the Abit. I have a P5K but I'm not partial to any brands so I'm following all of these P35 boards and they're all doing pretty damn well.

i am with you!...it is not fast for 4.2 ghz; even if it is a 2mb L2.

i think the P35 changes latencies which has a net effect on SuperPI...superpi is supposed to be memory intensive in addition to grading cpu mhz.

4mb's of L2 makes a difference as well. if you check the bearlake thread after benching 499 vs 500. there is a forced strap change also affecting his superpi 1m.

I thought it was more CPU intensive. SPi is calculating pi to so many millions of decimal places. I didn't know memory did any calculations.

i was told it was also memory...you can loosen timings and the time will be come higher to compute...presumably, the program data is being stored in system memory as it is computing.

At 610 FSB the memory should be running at DDR2-1220 minimum. Combined with a 4.2GHz CPU speed that should mean sub-12s at least as I am getting 12.5s at 4.05GHz CPU clock and DDR2-1000 mem speed. Is there something I am missing?

It's a 2mb cache cpu. It's roughly 12-17% slower than a 4mb cache cpu in spi 1m.

On crotales run, memory was set loose as he was shooting for max FSB and testing stability each step with Pi.

True, and as being said, this was only to test the FSB capabilities. We were running out of show time and the memories were run at 5-6-6-15-45.

A board is beeing sent to me as we speak, and I will do more extensive testing then.
