That review was outdated before he even posted it....what a farce. The 1.1 BIOS came out about 12 days after the board was released and corrected the memory timing issues. The dorks who wrote the review even listed the BIOS as 1.1 under the motherboard information. But they obviously didn't even use it or they would not have had the memory issue. How embarrassing for a reviewer to make that kind of mistake. But...as usual...that THG for ya.

It's frightening how such big name sites can blow a review :eek:

I read that too and wondered why the Hell they were having all those problems. I almost emailed the site. Wasn't it frustrating just reading it?

And the way its 'directed' towards the INTEL rig is laughable,no doubt a good board,but c'mon,hes got to be paid or something....

Seems that Anandtech thought much better of the IC7-G. It's a real contrast to the THG review.

What you think about the ones thay have at Newegg for $180 shipped? What you gave me was the FPO/batch, do you have the S-code i.e. SL6EF?

I was using that as an example, because I don't know the codes for 2.4C. But I decided to purchase one from Newegg for $180 shipped, and go with the Abit IS7-E Springdale. I read at Newegg Springdale is faster then Canterwood?

Does anyone know anyone who has pruchased a 2.4C OEM processor from Newegg recently?

i doubt it, and definately not stock, maybe with mods. let us know how your chip does. i imagine that it will be the same if not better.:D

Well they wont ship it out until Tuseday, and I won't be able to afford the motherboard until I get my Disability check, so I'm going to have to be pateint. But I'm still very excited, because the Saturday after next I'll be posting benchmarks for ya!

well as a whole I do not believe the springdales are faster than the canterwoods. However the Asus springdale(forget the name right now) *is* damn fast and has beaten even the P4C800 and IC7 in a couple reviews.

Theres been talk that Canterwood disables the PAT when run async. Thats why there is such a small diff between the Spring/Canters at high fsb in 5:4 mode.

I have the IS7, and imo from what I have seen, its doing exactly the same in terms of OCing as the IC7 :)

I'm working on getting Abit's Sringdale. or Canterwood rendtions of the 865/875 motherboards. Although my experience with Abit is somewhat limited, owning just the KX7-333. It was the most feature rich BIOS I've ever used, especially in the memory settings. And with Twinbank and Dual Memory architecture bcomong standard on both Intel and AMD platforms, the Abit user has an additional advantage.

well from one Liquid to another likwid, you can't go worng with either of Abit's offering's. I have been an EPoX man myself for some time, but have been nothing but happy with my IC7.

Also Creative, that is definately interesting to say the least. I may have to run some tests to see what I can come up with. It definately seems like the OCZ Gold will be a hot item if this is indeed true!
