Waiting on kemist to tell me if hes modded the BIOS or pencil modded the card (which I dont think he has)
bump :) Any other GTS owners want to add info?
GTS owners could add their sotck idle and load voltages here. In my GTS those are 1.26V / 1.21V
Mine is 1.35V constant, un-modded.
I take it that a bios vmod isnt possible (at least currently) with the 8800 series?
If I wanted to use a fixed value resistor for my 8800gtx's to bring the GPU's up to 1.4v what value resistors should I purchase?
Depends on what your starting voltage and board is!
GTS owners. We need your stock idle/load gpu voltages. It's not so hard to measure those :D
1.343V idle, 1.352 load (DMM, measuring left hand point as shown in original post)Quote:

Yes, I know that your GTS have different voltage :) Mostly that's the reason I'm asking this.
Someone else, please!
1.26V Idle, 1.24V load. Asus P5W DH, 8800 GTSQuote:

1.28 idle
1.26 load
Asus 8800gts
By the way my previous albatron had 1.0 ns ram o/c @ 2150 stable without mods,Asus instead has 1.2ns ~ 2050
Sorry...quick diversion... I noticed theres an SMC gone walkies from my card... PLease can someone help me out?

So the OVP is kicking in at aprox 1,45v? (core) Is there a way to beat the OVP?
Black screens are somehow related to temperature and/or over current protection. Just quessing..
Boblemagnifique was able to run 3D01 with 1,57V and 820MHz. GTS was cooled with single stage (?).

That resistor could be some current sensing input. In primarion 3535 that resistor would be CAL_CUR_SEN pin.
Still missing that 3540 datasheet.
Would you please tell us which pin of the px3540 chip is the red point resistor connected to???
Good guess. Vcore PS shutdown on OVP will almost always occur idling at the windows desktop on cards the do not have split 2D/3D vcore...which the 8800GTX doesn't have. It is one Vcore fits all so the Vcore will be highest idling at the Windows DT as there will be no loaded Vcore droop (the 8800GTX has a TON of droop) which will take the Vcore down below the OVP setpoint when the card loads up.Quote:

I have made picture where you can see that trace. (Post 60) That pin should be V_SEN pin.Quote:

That's nice..but how much does your GTS need to do 702? My GTs run fine with 1.25V load at that speed. Do you have black screen problem with higher voltage?
I will use better cooling next time I bench. (In january)
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all :toast2: :toast:

unmodded and stock cooling , Vgpu idle 1.32v / load 1.295v
XFX 8800 GTS
VGPU: 1.27 idle 1.23 load
VDDR: 1.85 the whole time.
Able to run 660/1050 with stock cooling, running 625/950 for 24/7 for now. I'll be putting it under water this weekend.
