[Denny]XFX 8800GTS testing

I really want me one of these... But the finances say no... Having no other income than my student-support sucks :( :)
As soon as I get a job, I've got 2 things on my shopping-list:
1: Driver's license
2: 8800GTS, or if times passes quick enough, 8900GTS :)

anyone tried this yet? I have heard of no one changing thermal pastes for better temps so am wondering if it is even feasible.
