Are you looking at volt modding the card? Say 2.2v-2.25v memory 1.5v - 1.55v core?

Oh I remember this card can be volt modded by software no?

Sorry, I misunderstood the X1x00 series. They can read voltage and send it by software but you can not change the voltage. I tought you could but for now let's say no one did that by software.

hey sorry to go off topic guys but im trying to decide between this card and some others, could you pls help me out?

GeCube X1900XT 256MB(read that it runs hot-both idle&full load-compared to a 7950GT) - AUD$415

Sapphire 1950XT 256MB (read that it runs hot=> zalman V900+$50,can be good oc'r): AUD$482

Gainward 7950GT GS 256MB(beats the nvidia 7950GT 512mb,excellent oc'r but the 512mb will be useful for newer games!): AUD$388-$395

Sparkle/Xpertvision 7950GT 512mb(prob decent ocing): AUD$365/$400

Definately not the same quality and performance of cards. Saying that ATI runs hot, is like saying Nvidia doesn't and that is wrong.

Just buy your Nvidia and change topic please.

with ATITOOL on x1xxx cards you can change the voltages , you dont need any Vmods

Thanks mascaras for clearing that out. Then buying a Sapphire X1950XT VIVO DUAL DVI 256MB is now getting more and more interesting proposition! It looks to be the next big deal right after the X800GTO2 1 year ago.

Hi, thanks for reply, I'm still not sure if thats correct. I mean I can see the screenshot but what tests have you done to check if the voltage has actually changed?

Like voltmeter or perhaps you were able to overclock better once u adjusted them?

I change voltages with atitool since my x1800xt

yes it changes voltages 100% sure , because the temps go HIgher (even Idle) and for example with x1800xt and x1900xt without change voltages you cant run + 7xx Mhz in the core or 8xx Mhz in memory .

i thought everyone already knew you can change voltages with atitool .

yeh , with stokcooler i also have ~60c idle

im using a very simple waterblok its a Twinplex Pro

Seems like the relaxed mem. timings on the x1950xt's kill performance.

im with only 1 timing down in all timings got 12600 marks 3dmark 2005 x1950xt default and E6400 only 3200mhz :D

I dont think it kills performace because of the mem speed, it may have looser timings but I dont think that will hinder it one bit at 1800+, the only differance is yours runs 512 mb which Im sure has a little to do with the higher score, not much though until you get into higher resolutions. The 1950XTX has looser timings I think and outperforms your 1900xtx, mainly because the mem speed.

planning to get the x1950XT for my rig, but i want to ask is there any driver issue for this nice card? been googling around and some forums complaint this card for lack of supported driver... can get the omega drivers working on it? or what version of catalyst driver suit this card well... thanks...
