Instead of working on the led's Ediejo cleaned the moddingplace.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker260.JPG
After that i sprayed the last parts in varnish , so they can dry out the whole night.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker259.JPG
And sprayed the rest of them blue, tomorrow the varnish.

Today let's work on the front for a change :P.
First polish the front , you can buy great stuff for it:)

Then nr 2.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker262.jpg
And the clean with nr 1.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker263.jpg
The polished part will shine like this.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker264.jpg
You already did see 2 of them (Led's) First drill holes , We use a piece of wood so the plexi won;t break.:)
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker265.jpg
Here will come 10 led's.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker266.jpg
So , they are on their place , only push them in a little deeper.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker267.jpg
Then let;s solder them.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker268.jpg
What a wiremess :(
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker269.jpg
This looks better , after all they will be visible ( Partly )
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker270.jpg
And now first coffee , see ya guys later.

Nice work! Looking great.

Also in the plexi between the radgrill we need to put some leds, so lets drill very carefully.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker289.jpg
Thats all we do with this today.Continue with the Musketeer.
Because we leave the top of it open, we have to sleeve the 2 cable's aswell , because they will be a little visible.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker290.jpg
Then ofcourse whe have to be able to control the musketeer, what a job :P
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker291.jpg
And then the hardest job.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker292.jpg
At place:P
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker293.jpg
Long enough. ;)
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker294.jpg
This is how it looks like from a distance.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker295.jpg
And like this in the dark.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker296.jpg
Buttons working too.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker297.jpg
And dark again:P
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker298.jpg
Lets put reservoir in too then.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker299.jpg
When the res light up , the mod is ready
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker300.jpg
We are thinking of changing for blue dye for the coolant , because whe think looks better with the rest of the front, what do you guys think about it?
Meanwhile i will mail o.c.-schop.nlfor blue dye.
Next project is already waiting.

Today some work at the top..
First solder some leds.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker301.jpg
Seem to work fine:P.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker302.jpg
Lets turn of the lights. :)
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker303.jpg
From another angle.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker304.jpg
Look at the shine on the plastic cover.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker305.jpg
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker306.jpg
In total for top only 9 high bright leds are used , green colored , don't need uv light because is fluoresend plexi. Only thing it needs is light. :)
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker307.jpg
Tomorrow no update ,After 16 days non stop working and modding it's time for a day of rest.
-
You need to enter this into a contest if you didn't already plan to. This is the most amazing case mod I have ever seen! you are going to be winning contests like crazy!
-
@Nanometer, We enter this casemod into a contest from Coolermaster.
And when that’s done we wait and see what happened. :yepp:
-
Been observiing this thread since day one. I must say very well done:)

I messed up the varnish drilling extra holes for leds, so to bad.
So spray it again.

http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker316.jpg
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker317.jpg
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker318.jpg
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker319.jpg
Snakez building in the pump , when waiting for paint to dry , i've bin working on the wires.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker320.jpg
Also hooked up the reservoir. The OC-press tube is really great.:P
You can twist it in every direction without folding it , real good stuff:P
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker321.jpg
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker322.jpg
Also there was something in the way , The backside of the Musketeer was in the way for the fittings of the radiator, So what else is there to do then cut away the backside .And look if it fits then. tomorrow i will paint the edge of the Musketeer casing blue , and then problem solved.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker323.jpg
It fitts :P
Will not say we are there yet , dit has to go on it's place to nice and thight.:)
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker324.jpg
Tomorrow and saturday wil be solder day . Lot's of wires to be hooked up and stowed away.
Total of 44 led's , So 88 wires to hide. :)
And the wire is teflonwire , hard to strip :P
-
wow... :slobber:
Now this is nice modding :D
Keep us updated, cause, one, your work is and looks awesome,
two, I'm slowly learning from the pictures how to mod my own case :)
Nice job guys, you guys deserve a hand

After having taken a little rest friday and saterday, the batteries where charged again. That meant starting one hell of a job Sunday morning.:
Placing 25 LEDs, connecting them, ánd solving another big problem. The Musketeer wouldn’t fit.
The start: the protection tubes for the LEDs.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker325.jpg
Putting the LEDs in
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker328.jpg
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker325.jpg
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker327.jpg
Outlining the extra holes in the plexiglass:.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker326.jpg
Solder away!
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker329.jpg
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker330.jpg
And then we have thirty wires:.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker331.jpg
This really is a delicate job… ;)
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker332.jpg
The we have the big problem. It seems the connections for the sound are too long, so now the Musketeer doesn’t fit for the second time in a row.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker333.jpg
So what I did is cutting of the connectors (first looked where the plus and min of the sound are and the desolder…
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker335.jpg
Then we drill the holes in the circuit board.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker334.jpg
Where once the connector was are now three wires.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker336.jpg
Cut them of and it looks just fine ;).
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker337.jpg
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker338.jpg
Did you think i was ready? Not realy, the power connector had to go off too.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker340.jpg
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker339.jpg
So you see, for every problem we have a solution. The Musketeer is in place and doesn’t have to come out ever again!
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker341.jpg
No, Ediejo isnt ready with the solder iron yet. This site isn’t thát much….
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker342.jpg
But the other side…
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker343.jpg
To be clear, that big bunch down there too… ;)
Later on you won’t see much of it anymore ;)
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker344.jpg
The oc-press tube barely fits through the holes, but it fits just right!
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker345.jpg
This is everything of wiring that will be in sight. The two wires for the sound in and out of the Musketeer and the two black/red wires for the light of the Musketeer and harddrive will fit nicely behind the motherboard.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker346.jpg
After a twelve hour day in my moddingroom i think it’s enough for today. Tomorrow more soldering and if everything goes right we’ll finish building Tuesday. But then everything has to go right.. or else Wednesday is another day ;)
-
A small update today because of a small issue which delayed the whole lot a bit (with a size of approx. 5mm ;)
I looks like all leds are operational …..
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker347.jpg
With exception of one ;) because the stock is gone, all leds are used and there is still one which needs to be replaced.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker348.jpg
This is the guilty one , the pain in the ass, it’s already removed but now we need to replace it with a new one and you can be assured that it’s not easy because of its location.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker349.jpg
It it’s not easy to spot, but to get the perfect result it must be replaced …
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker350.jpg
The case fans who provide the wanted result, the produced light is superb.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker351.jpg
A shot with the side panel. As you can see the number of led’s did not change, due to the fact that the resistors are changed the leds produced more light then they suppose to do. This will have a negative impact on the life/endurance of the leds, that why we swapped the resistors which decreased the brightness of the leds but improved the life. That’s also the reason that now more leds are used to get the same result.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker352.jpg
Tomorrow my Canon 350D should be ready after it needed to have some repair. This means the quality of the photos will improve dramatically. The Fuji camera which I used today is not able to cope with the UV light …..
-
Today first thing i did was pick up de Canon 350D up.
So i can give you guys some better pics:P
This is what the 350 makes of it :)
With the lights on.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker353.jpg
Then a little darker.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker354.jpg
Then totall darkness.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker355.jpg
After that started on exchanging the led that doesn't work. To get there the whole stealthing plate needed to go out again. What a job.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker356.jpg
De top led is changed in a few minutes. Now i can start working on hiding all the wires. And even when it takes 2 days for the led to arrive , it doesn't matter . Still enoght work to do.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker357.jpg
Cool , fans not working lighting up like that.:)
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker360.jpg
On this pic you can see the prurple uv glow comming out of the case. :P
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker359.jpg
It seems we did do not much today....It was hours of work changing the led.
He's fine like this for today , back again tommorow.
http://www.ediejo.dnrhosting.nl/Case...stacker358.jpg
-
hmm that is the bad thing about all this, if something doesn't work right or goes bad it is a pain to replace....
-
@SparkyJJO, Yes, that’s right. But if your building a normal p.c. the job is done in 30 min max. The job to build the case like this takes about 100 ore more hours. So I take the pain to replace. ;)
-
you guys have to do it slow and make it perfect so that it go smoothly...anyway good luck u 2... i wish i have so much tools to start my own mod too
-
And some high resolution photos at 1600 pix.
