1st place on our hdtach ranking
you can check specs here

Love the new reversions and have 2 more comming in.

My four 7200.10s can pull ~310 mb/sec, so I guess having 4x 15k SAS and getting ~350mb/sec isnt too shabby ;)
Lets see the 8xSAS benchies!
Well, I need a new sas cage, and it is on its way to Denmark. The discs wasnt all that expensive. Some guy screwed him self up at a auctionsite, and sold me 9 for ~ $65 a piece :)Quote:

yeh thats what i thought until i actually tested.. read back 1-2 pages back, ive posted results just on this.Quote:

2 = 160MB/s
4 = 310MB/s
access time remains the same at least on my areca controllers
edit: some pics dont show up anymore
And I dont even think I can run 4x 36 Gb Raptor, 16 mb model ADFD with my onboard controllers :(Quote:

Or will I be able to use all 4 ports on the ICH7 controller?
For some reason HD Tune is reporting my array as 2TB, so I dont know the accuracy of its results, probably just a limit of the application. Array is on an Areca 1230, with 12xSeagate 7200.10 500GB, 256MB write through cache, 128k stripes, in RAID 5. I do know that the IOP is my bottleneck, and that the 1231ML controller should alleviate that issue. I do get higher throughput with 8 drives due to this limitation.

wow crazy read speads
TWELVE seagates????????????????!!!!!
yes, works out to 5TB formatted
Wow, nice :D
Here's my 2x Seagate 7200.8 200GB
For some reason intel matrix says NCQ is not supported  :(
Anyway.. 64k stripe

Napalm- sorry but I must put the fun back in the thread. Please post some hdtune and hdtach benchmarks. :)
I've been waiting for Areca to release some IOP341 cards for a while, and the new IOP makes my old results look rather slow.
HDtach IOP331 vs IOP341
http://www.fragfortoys.net/2cpu/arec...dtach256MB.jpg
HDtune IOP341 (scroll up for 331)
http://www.fragfortoys.net/2cpu/arec...200.10.5TB.jpg
copying dvds-IOP331 was pretty fast, read and wrote a dvd in a pokey 51s.
http://www.fragfortoys.net/2cpu/arec...e256MBwBBU.jpg
IOP341 isn't even in the same ballpark.

Realistic burst speed ;) Love the fact that uit is more than 10 x my burst rate :D HAHHAQuote:

check this out, iop341/342, page 10-11,

yup, dual-800Mhz iop, now that wud be sweet.. :) its really needed for ~24 drives, wonder if areca will do a dual-iop controller..
if possible can u do the atto bench? u should be @ way over 1000MB+
download @ http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=207
my arc1230 1GB 8x raptor @ 100% capacity - 596GB
http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/1795/8xcc6.jpg
the 500+ write in atto should be 500+ read in hdtach but i never got it with iop333
will post benches when i get my 1231ml or 1261ml next week, hopefully..
Volume write-back cache ftw :p:Quote:

If you want I can put you in touch with the guys I picked up my ARC1231 from. I don't think any retailer has them yet.
8anet was selling them before Areca was making them though, so who knows what you'll get there. :nono:
So with the same setup and number of drives, the IOP341 is the fastest overall right? How about the IOP333, does it perform between IOP331 and IOP341?
I'm sorry, it appears my older card the Areca 1230 has the IOP333 processor, not the IOP331, which appears on their lower end cards. As I found out, the IOP333 maxes out at about 8 drives in RAID5, and the IOP341 easily outperforms it.Quote:

My Seagate drive. Works fine, got it from a friend as a birthday gift. Although he thought of the drive as defect. Had some serious problems running in his computer, been working fine in mine for little more than a year :)

its RAID0, its that high cause of the cache.. looking @ ur bench u r limited by the cacheQuote:
